Has to be more going on in talks between the teams, if that was all it proabably would have happened already, unless there trying to hold off to do something on draft day depending how board goes.
i agree that a draft day trade with Philly is in the cards with the potential of Dion Jordan going back to Philly but it depends on the draft board - Mathis could be a part of it but Mathis is not the target at that age and the health concerns

Browns GM Ray Farmer also expected to be suspended for Text-gate role but Cleveland is not expected to lose a draft pick, per sources.
There also could be hefty fines handed down against ATL and CLEV for its roles in unapproved NFL activities. Announcement coming by Tuesday.

It was rumored that if either team were to lose a pick it would likely be a 4th round compensatory pick. I believe both teams were given one? I could be wrong. Regardless, it should be a late selection and have little to no effect on Miami's draft.
Yup, saw that in the other thread, I just think there is more than Mathis for a late pick talk going on.

Dang, only a 5th round pick from ATL for directly and deliberately affecting the game. They got a 4th from the comp picks so it's not like they care. Goodell's punishments are completely sporadic.

Pats will get nothing. That's why Cleveland got nothing but a fine and the GM got suspended for 4 games and Atlanta lost a 5th round pick in 2016 (not this years draft). Goodell setting the precedent low so that the Patriots will come away with nothing and it will look consistent among the 3 teams.
