Pats will get nothing. That's why Cleveland got nothing but a fine and the GM got suspended for 4 games and Atlanta lost a 5th round pick in 2016 (not this years draft). Goodell setting the precedent low so that the Patriots will come away with nothing and it will look consistent among the 3 teams.

Didn't even notice it was in 2016.

If they had been doing this for 2 years already, why wait another year to impose punishment? The NFL is ridiculous and the owners have too much sway over Goodell's decision making. You have to do something so heinous and blatant that the national media takes notice for there to be any real punishment incurred, ex. having a video library of your divisions signals.

Goodell has got to go, I'm so sick of this fairy clinging to the scrotum of the owners, forever afraid to hand down any real sentences.

Free agent ILB Rolando McClain is visiting the Patriots on Monday.
McClain finally has someone to leverage against the Cowboys, who have been lowballing him since the beginning of free agency. McClain was an integral part of Big D's defense in 2014, but dealt with concussions. He's also facing a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. Although McClain is surely pleased to have another club in the bidding, New England is not the kind of team that's going to break open the bank for a player with his question marks.

IMO Cleveland didn't lose any picks and their GM got suspended because their GM was directly involved with the infraction. Atlanta lost a pick because no one was directly involved that could be suspended.

The low punishments I seen coming a mile away I don't see how anyone is surprised at the easy punishments.

Dang, only a 5th round pick from ATL for directly and deliberately affecting the game. They got a 4th from the comp picks so it's not like they care. Goodell's punishments are completely sporadic.

This sets the stage for the Pats only loosing a 6th rounder. Bullsh*t.

only way NE loses a pick is if they take into account the numerous times NE has been caught trying to bend the rules. The deflategate issue by itself is nowhere near as bad as what Atl did.

The owner in Atlanta admitted to piping in crowd noise for two years. That drunkard Irsay was suspended why wouldn't they suspend Blank?

Who's involved has little bearing here IMO. Violations are violations and they should be punished according to the crime. Cleveland losing a pick may be a little harsh for the situation. It's not like Farmer was texting in plays he overheard on the opposing sides head set but Atlanta should have been much harsher. Look at what the crowd noise does in home games for Seattle and Kansas City. Those are two of the toughest venues to play in the NFL because of the crowd so I don't see how this didn't give Atlanta (who sucks anyway) a competitive advantage. It should have been a higher pick. A 5th round pick is nothing.

i dont get the farmer treatment...i'd be texting the sideline too in the box watching that...happens when you got no qb

he did elevate A&M, that cannot be disputed. he hasn't had a chance to really play in the NFL yet.

come on man that qb would put tannehill on the bench...be it at a & m or in the pros...so i was told

Yeah, we were also told that Cleveland would be in the super bowl while Miami was watching...for years to come.

Cle and Mia were very similar, one 7-9 and the other 8-8 w/ both missing the playoffs.

Browns were 7-9 with the easier schedule. Neither team made playoff so lame argument but they did have the easier schedule.

In the NFL your either an elite team or your right around a 7-8 win team for the most part.

The difference between winning 2-3 games in a season is usually based on very few plays. To compare teams based purely on record, is ****ing retarded.
