Official Mia/Hou Joint Practice 1 Thread.

Reads like yet another sitting on the qbs eyes pre to post snap
LOL.
The guy threw 8 picks in 400 attempts last season - including 3 of them after he was concussed against the Packers.

And you’re worrying about a pick-6 on the last play of practice?
exactly. Wtf?

I think y’all are losing the context of the offense a little bit here though sure the numbers look good there but it’s all motion based coverage ids.

Miami uses more motion in its offense than any other team in the league. Why is that? Is it cause tua struggles to make proper reads in non motion based sets or is it cause mcds system is designed to make it easy for the qb? I know it’s the latter I don’t know about the former….yet

I guess I’d just say be careful with numbers in a vacuum they lack context. All motion based coverage ids are a luxury for a qb.

In addition most of Miamis motion players are the actual pre to post snap primary. When we get to where the motion guy isn’t where the ball is designed to go all the time relative to the coverage played that’s when your qb is gonna be showing some field read developments.
He finished #1 in passing efficiency and in down field passing. I don’t give a flying **** how he did it.

the only topic here imo is Tua believes his no look eye and head manipulation is one of his biggest strengths, he tried it twice on the defense and both times the defense didnt fall for it, so, because its a copy cat league he will need to take that into account and NOT just trust that its gonna work.
I was surprised that he flat out admitted to that today.

Reading this thread I’m not sure what to think, Tua is either #1, nothing to worry about, everyone who dares say otherwise is a lemming, or he’s a pick 6 machine, has regressed and we are totally boned. I’m just going to wait for the real games.

It`s pretty easy actually , you go by the real games not the practice and in the real games out of all the starting QB`s he`s probably the farthest one from a pick 6 machine .

34 games started ,1078 attempts , 23 interceptions ,3 of those as someone said earlier in 1 game against Packers while concussed .

Definitely, last year is mostly if not entirely irrelevant to 2023. I'm also worried about the other pick 6 he threw in practice and the 3 picks he threw the other day. Tua needs to play at least 2 drives in the game on Saturday and probably more, it would be foolish to sit him as if he's some star QB that has nothing to work on. Belichick used to play Brady in the preseason after he was an established star, so if McDaniel thinks Tua is above that he's wrong. I know that it's a trend now days to sit your starting QB for the entire preseason thanks to guys like McVay. But we all saw what happened when McVay met Belichick in the Superbowl, he got f****** schooled.
How long have you and Billcheat been a couple? Just bustin your chops. Actually, Ray already did that. :chuckle:

It could be due to a polarized Fan base.

I think it is more likely due to a small portion of the fan base that seems "paralyzed" in negativity. Those fans are what I call "Lemmings".

I suspect their motto is "empty barrels make the most noise". - LOL

I finally know the definition of a Lemming, I've been waiting for this day! :)
