It's not that hard to understand. If Devante Parker leaves a game Jakeem Grant or Albert Wilson aren't going to fail to bring in a jump ball because he's not prepared. That's just not the type of player they are. It's just going to happen sometimes that guys go out and you aren't necessarily gonna have the right plays having been repped and in the gameplan to beat the opponent you're facing with the guys you have. It's just pure fantasy and entirely unrealistic to act like losing certain players in the course of a game doesn't matter. There is nothing oversimplified in expecting a player to be prepared to play when he has to go into the game.
It appears to me you just want to make excuses for players who come in and aren’t prepared to play. Obviously coaches have to play to the strengths of the players they have on the field but that doesn’t mean backups can just come in and play like they did nothing to prepare for the game. Because they didn’t think they would have to play in the game.
The whole concept of ,”next man up” is that the backups can come in and fill in effectively if the starter goes down. Unfortunately some backups are much better at coming in and filling in for the starters than other backups are.
The backup offensive tackles are a huge weakness for the Dolphins. Hopefully McDaniel has been able to come up with plays that will cover for their inability to pass protect or open holes in the running game .
