**OFFICIAL NFL Draft Thread**

ok, guys good draft maybe we can get another pick somewhere. Hopefully this means Daniels is gunna play FS.

Another guy that's strong, phisical and though with a motor that doesn't stop.

Ozzy rules!!

Strengths: Has a great frame, good overall size and keeps getting bigger. Has good overall strength and flashes explosive upper body power. Is a player on the rise that has improved his size and overall ability greatly over the course of the last year. He has decent initial quickness and agility. Has long arms and is learning to use them in order to neutralize. Plays hard and has some toughness about him. Has developmental upside.

Weaknesses: Is still somewhat inexperienced and unpolished. Did not get great starting experience throughout collegiate career. Needs to play with more consistent leverage and learn to use his hands better. Needs to improve his array of pass rush moves. Will never be a huge contributor as a pass rusher in the NFL because he lacks explosive burst and athleticism. Needs to improve his awareness and recognition skills.

Overall: Vickerson played in eight games as a true freshman in 2001, started six games in 2002 and played in all 13 games as a rotating DT in 2003. He finally took over as a fulltime starter as a senior in 2004 and finished with 46 total tackles, 10.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks. Vickerson is a late-bloomer that has grown into his body over the course of the last year. He has a huge frame, good overall strength and decent agility. Vickerson still needs to improve his technique and overall consistency, and his upside is limited by his lack of elite athleticism and speed. However, Vickerson has enough developmental potential as a two-gap DT and/or NT in the NFL to take a chance on him in the sixth or seventh round.

I dont really care as long as we get guys that have a love for the game which I think it is safe to say all 6 of our picks have that love.

BIO: Hard-working tackle who has shown tremendous progress the past two seasons. Explosive off the snap with a very nice first step. Strong, gets push up the field and collapses the pocket. Displays a terrific burst of closing speed and jolt at the point. Throws blockers aside or holds his ground against blocks. Solid athlete.

POSITIVES: Gets upright, does not play with leverage and lets opponents underneath him. Best straight ahead and has difficulty moving laterally. A bit stiff and has trouble redirecting.

NEGATIVES: An underrated prospect, Vickerson is an ever-improving player with a high upside. A solid one-gap run stuffer at the next level, he is a good fit in a one-gap scheme.

ANALYSIS: Moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore. Posted 42/7.2/2.5 last season after 18/6/2 as a junior.

PROJECTION: Late Fourth Round

Now we must hope the guys don't get drafted... especially Shazor and Wilkerson.

More on Vickerson

http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2005/vickerson_kevin

Kevin Vickerson earned Prep Star All-American honors and was rated one of the top defensive end prospects in the country by Rivals.com as a senior at Martin Luther King (Detroit, Mich.) High School.

A change in the coaching staff in 2003 saw Vickerson enter the doghouse, as the coaches felt he was not adhering to their program.

Another player would have continued to sulk, but Vickerson realized that 2004 would be his final chance to live up to his high school press clippings. He worked hard in the offseason to increase his bulk, improve his strength and prove to the coaches that he had matured.

The result was Vickerson regaining a starting job, this time at left tackle.

It's a very interesting read. I really like this pick because it sounds like he was a kid with huge potential coming into college who just didn't realize it due to fluke injuries and coaching staff issues.
