They gave a 1M base. So Watson protected himself. That’s why would love to see the suspension come in 2023.

Either way worst case of Watson gets suspended in 2022 he still will get 229M from browns no matter what.
Yup. So after all is said and done. Watson is the only sure winner in all of this. Seems odd that that would be the outcome if teams investigated him and he was such a terrible person.

How much do you think Browns “investigated” him. 24 hours they were “in”. Then notified they were out. All while pissing their QB off that essentially told them to get ****ed. Then did what they had to do to get back in and seal a deal for a QB.

They’ve probably been investigating him for months if not longer. Do you really think any business would blindly risk 230 million dollars without doing their due diligence? All they probably did was increase their offer of guaranteed money.

They do it all the time. And the NFL has been on record over and over again that they will not discuss Watson until their investigation is complete.

They do it all the time? Please give me the examples of all the times that teams guaranteed 200 million dollars to a player who has ethical red flags without conducting a thorough investigation on said player.

Trust me, the Browns did their research and made what they thought was the right decision. They didn’t just offer Watson 230 million dollars all Willy Nilly.
