Ok.. Because it might happen.. In regards to Martin?

What does that have to do with Martin? I mean he could be an ultra conservative, holier than thou, pill popper like Rush Limbaugh with his idiotic rhetoric

Maddow is a she-he, and Martin is a he-she.

I don't think much of JM, but his career thus far is reminiscent of Wade Smith (notwithstanding the recent scandal)
I remember similar posts about him

I dont think he will come back, plus itll be a huge distraction for the team. Not worth having him here. A lot of the players werent supporting him when he first left, and now its jsut that much worse. We are better of cutting him and losing the money, its not a lot anyways. Ideally we trade him to SF or Indy and get his cap off our books.

It's all lip-service at this point. There's no real way he comes back to this team, for his sake and ours. I can't see guys being comfortable around him considering everything that has gone down. He's not that good and unless he were to become a "pro-bowl" player, he'll blame coaching for not putting him in a role where he could succeed and it all starts over again with the PR nightmare. So for now, I think both sides are talking about making nice in the press so that we can maybe we can get something for him in a trade and he can move on. Because if we wanted to be nasty, we could keep him and just sit him on the bench until his rookie contract expires. It benefits both sides to make-nice and move on.

For some reason I just cant see Martin bouncing back from this. Obviously this is just my theory but I maintain belief that part of the reason he snapped and walked out on the team was stress pertaining to his performance on the field. He couldn't handle the pressure of losing his starting role and getting nagged by his teammates at the same time. Imagine how much more pressure he'll have when everyone around him, including opponents, is looking at him like he's made of glass. For a guy who already proved his inner strength was lacking, now he has to have more inner strength that most guys on the field.

I'd give him a shot in training camp, but he'd have to earn his role and his presence in the locker-room on his own. No babying.

Unless the czar of the NFL's "Mother Russia," decides to regulate alll offensive words out of the onfield lexicon, he should expect plenty of this

I would say there is no possible way the fins re-sign J Mart

....but then again it is Steven Ross's Fins we are talking about......................

honestly? I don't want him back. but it doesn't matter what we want. So lets just say from a publicity standpoint (DAVE!) keeping martin and him making a successful comeback would do two things. a.) prove philbin has enough control on the locker room to allow even a player who's weak between the ears like martin to succeed... and b.) allows us to salvage a number 2 draft pick.

that's all the positive I have.

can't make chicken salad from chicken s#!t...his pick at #2 is actually worse than pat white. Never thought it would get worse that white at 2 but it did

■ One source estimated that Martin has a “zero percent chance” of ever playing for the Dolphins again, as the players, coaches, and staff have too much resentment toward him for the way he handled this situation and cost people their jobs. The source doubted that any NFL team would sign him, though we think a team may be willing to take a flier on him for a minimum salary.

“If you were a GM, would you trust him as your left tackle?” the source said.

■ Team officials never knew how much the pranks bothered Martin, as he was a willing participant in many of them, as well.

The tipping point for Martin allegedly was a cafeteria prank in which several players stood up from the table when Martin sat down. He slammed his tray on the ground, left the facility, and checked into a hospital for psychological treatment shortly thereafter.

Sources tell us that Martin not only often participated in that prank himself — he once did it to Philbin.

If Martin remains a Dolphin, then it's clear that the Dolphins have no plans to improve any time soon. Who wants to be a fan of a team that doesn't care if they get better?

If Miami brought him back the media redux when he commits suicide would be awful. It's in everyone's best interest to release him so he can play in the CFL.

martin would be IDOLIZED if he played for some CFL team in the eastern (French, ultra-liberal) part of the country.

If the Fins keep Martin and with everything that has been going on they might.. With his skill set and size would he make a good/great right or left guard in our system.. We know as of right now he can't play LT or RT to the level we need.. So the ? is if we keep him can he play guard? And can he be good?

He doesn't have a skill set as far as I can tell, he pouted (then left the team) when getting moved back to RT from LT where he sucked, and he might be a good quiter but that's not what the Dolphins are looking for.

All kidding aside you are right about the guard spot, but considering what happened after the failure at LT he might really object to the move to guard.

Well it basically means that the team is more interested in promoting a certain image or toeing the line with the league office than actually trying to field a good, cohesive football team.

I am already at the point where I just sort of don't care about 2014, but that would seal the deal for me.
