Ok, Now I really like Saban

This whole philosophy sounds so much like the Patriots philosophy. I can't wait till the season begins! I think we will be better than certain people expect. Saban is one of the most intelligent coaches I have seen for a VERY long time.

I think what he means is that he needs people that can be self-reliant. That do not need to be held by the hand and shown what to do every second of every day. He wants people, like wolves, how are hungry and ready to do battle at the drop of a hat, and that do have to rely on others to be the best they can be. Part of the downfall of last years team was the complete reliance on Ricky, even Dave said he created the team arround Ricky, and when Ricky failed and left the team, all the sheep were running arround without a clue of what to do. You want a team that can perform at an optimal level, even if a key ingredient is hurt or missing.

But wolves travel in packs with a leader... Only the rouge is truely self reliant, and we dont want them because they dont work well with others.

I've always liked Saban. In fact, I would venture to say I have a man crush on him. But, you know, not a sexual way.

Exactly, and Saban is welcoming back Ricky with open arms.

Fortunately for us Saban has cured the rabies, but if he turns rabid again, shoot 'em "Old Yeller" style.

Jay may not of been a good Qb, but I think he was a leader on the team. Saban can jump on rookies like Manuel Wright, but I hope he's smart enough to know if he does that to a respected veteran on the team, he'll lose the locker room quickly. As much as people are in love with Saban, it's still a players league.
