If you were Saban, which would you go with for the QB situation?
 
Aaron Brooks For 1 year or two and try to trade up to get the top 3 QB's Vince Young JAy Cutler MAtt Leinart and let them groom 1 year

that almost sums up my negative emotions for your statement.
 
If we can find a decent FA QB the lets do that so we can have a year or two to train a rookie the way Saban wants them to be trained,(Obviously I know we won't find a franchise QB that way unless we get lucky like the Packers did when Atlanta traded Favre to them).
 
I forsee Saban going after a McCown, Brooks, or other FA type QB to replace Gus. He'll then use the draft to pick a guy somewhere in the 2nd to 4th rounds. I just don't think that he can wait until the draft and hope that things work out and one of the top 3 are available to us or lose draft picks to move up to get one of those guys. He's too calculating a person/coac/GM to let the whims of the draft affect how he address the team at such a critical position. Now, McCown or whoever may not end up being our Marino replacement, but could do enough that we can get further along until the young gun develops or until we have an opportunity in the next year or two to acquire a better QB....
 
idc what we do we need a Qb for the feuture, look what happened to us w/ wanstet, we didn't have a good QB and we were one of the worst teams in the league for years
 
there is no option for move up in the draft and take Cutler and Start Gus. Cutler would be QB of the future. I would not want to start him immediately.
 
again...what I would do is sign UFA McCown or make a 'cheap' trade to get Ramsey, draft Croyle in the 2nd, which allows us to grab a top defensive player like [Huff/Greenway/J.Williams] in the 1st round...
 
I will take Kitna as a free agent and draft an offensive lineman in the first round.

I could go for that or drafting Drew Olsen later in the draft and trying to get Kitna.

I get ur point---but we were not one of the worse teams in the league during his reign :refuse:

You need to add Leinart and Young to that poll. If we move up to take a QB we are INVESTING ALOT into him. Leinart/Young are the only QB's that have proven they are WORTH that. Cutler is hyped up huge the same as Rivers was...if Quinn declared he would be an after thought. The poll isnt very accurate because you're not giving us enough options.
