Olbermann: Dolphins facing Saints like punishment

You think they'll even mention the football aspect Monday night ?
All of a sudden a probably low rated game becomes the must see event of the year.

Tampa vs Miami

as the world turns

it be funny if we kicked the **** out of tampa, like mauled them 40-0 and ppl around the nfl started calling us "the Bullys down in south beach" hahaha! we have gone from good guys to the bad ones in the nfl.

Why would anyone take what Olbermann has to say about anything seriously?

Let's say this NFL review and outside pressure leads to what Ross would deem necessary to fire Philbin after the season. What happens though if the team makes the playoffs and wins a game or two? That could put Ross in an ugly situation. Might be best for all parties involved to fast track this review to only a few weeks. Not sure if that is even possible, but if Ross does indeed have to fire Philbin, best to do it as soon as possible then wait until after the year.

This situation is really nothing like the Saints, where team sanctioned injuries to opponents was the goal. NO got smacked down because they got caught, we're told to quit, said they did but didn't, and got caught again.

if this rumor of the coaches asking Incognito to toughen up Martin claim true, the Dolphins may face an even harsher penalty than the Saints. Bullying and Hazing and racial threats are like three of the top five news stories in America - if the NFL's teams condones and or promotes these behavior internally despite the natonal stories, they will have to pay the price. and like someone mentioned earlier, somebody has to be the example from which the rest of the league learns from.

let's hope the front office really was ambiguous...

Get the F out of here. In the Saints case, they made the case that peoples careers may of been shortened and that coaches condoned it and actually verbally said "Hurt so and so".

Here nobody was physically hurt. Johnathan Martin may of had his feelings hurt that was about it and There is absolutely no evidence of coaches saying "Hey richie toss a racial slur in this guys direction"

Something may be done, but if it is its a crock of crap.

More speculation being used as gasoline on a smoldering fire. Bountygate and Bullygate are not comparable in terms of financial retribution as far as the NFL is concerned. Bountygate involved a coaching staff instigating rewards for injuries while Bullygate involves an idiot taking advantage of a mentally weak player. I think most of you know my thoughts on Philbin in this mess, which are irrelevant right now, but there is nothing that indicates the coaching staff was aware of this.

Incognito has been suspended and will be cut in the not-to-distant future. He'll be fined and suspended by the league and that will be the end of it for the NFL. Ireland and the coaching staff may get fired but it wont be based solely on this. My guess is that if the Dolphins don't make the playoffs all will be fired.

Yet another fine reporting job by ESPN.

Incognito never acted like a man in the first place.

If we do get hit with a Saints-like punishment for this, then Ross needs to sue the NFL and Goodell.

Not even comparable situations. The team took action itself over the guilty party and will let him go in a few weeks. If youre worried about the gameplan and schemes you dont take time to babysit the cafeteria and lockeroom after practice is over. These are full grown men that should know how to carry themselves on and off the field, in no way shape or form should the FO be held accountable of one idiots picking of another. Cut ties to both of them to let the league know you acknowledge the situation and move forward. Losing picks or suspensions to parties that weren't responsible? Gimme a break, pure and total speculation. Most likely Incognito will recieve a lifetime ban from the NFL and Philbin might be fined a couple hundred thousand dollars.

Remember with bounty gate, Goodell gave the Saints a warning and Peyton and the GM lied go him. Here, Ross called Goodell and wants the NFL to investigate with everyone's cooperation. It might help us.

I'd probably stop watching the NFL forever if that happened. Not even comparable situations.

Its not even a punishment with Ireland making the picks really, it just frees up a little more cap space for him.
