Older Dolphin fans

46, been a fan since Jan. 13, 1974, our last Super Bowl win.
I still have my first jersey and helmet from the Sears catalog, Christmas 1975.
Just got my new Brian Hartline jersey couple of weeks ago.
I remember the Sea of Hands game, the loss to the Chargers on Jan. 2, 1982 and of course the 2 SB losses in 1983 and 1985.
I went to the last game at the Orange Bowl, Dec. 22, 1986 and the lone win in 2007.
Through good times (1974-1995), meh times (1996-2003) and bad times (2004-2007, 2009-13), I will always stick by them.
I just hope I get to see them win another SB before I cash in my chips. Told my wife to bury me in a Marino jersey.
My luck, they'll win it the season after I go.

I'm 50 and for the very 1st time in my Dolphin Fan Life, I've become disinterested in the team. I have been lurking in the background reading about all the mayhem for the last 4 weeks and haven't been posting with regularity like before. Something has changed with this team over the last 4 weeks; leaving me sulking and with a seriously bad feeling in my gut. In leaner times, I would always post and try to keep a positive out look on things Dolphin related. I'm very uncomfortable with what has transpired over the last few games and am not sure how Ross will handle this moving forward. I guess you could say, I've become very mistrusting of the whole organization and what they are trying to accomplish. The players know there is a problem and it seems like Those who could address these issues within the F/O and Coaching Ranks, have gone silent or have disappeared with what seems like no answers. I've been in Ireland's corner for the last few years but have jumped ship and NOW firmly believe he needs to be replaced with a more competent GM. It could take a total house cleaning to finally right the Miami Dolphins. Uncertainty still faces us in the next few months. God Help us all.

I'm 29, but have been watching this team since 1993, and it's aged me horribly. Furthest i've seen them get is the second round, missed out on Marino's prime years, and missed out on the Marks Brothers. It's been 20 years of purgatory.

I'm 49.....Been a Dolphin fan since 1970.....How many other Dolphin fans here around
my age, considering what our team has done the last decade, are starting to have that
sickning feeling,we might NEVER see another SuperBowl win?

Been a fan for the past 35 years. So not long enough to see a Superbowl victory.

I'm 48, do remember the championship years, and still think our time will come again...same as it eventually came again for the Packers, Colts, and Giants.

Does my heart good to know i'm not the only old bastard here....love all you guys....even that Jet fan.

I won't say how old I am, but I'll say that I cried my eyes out begging Don Strock to bring us back from behind in the second half of the '82 Super Bowl against the Redskins. ;)

48 here, been a fan since 75. Every yr. I just hope for a playoff spot let alone a SB appearance. And every yr. my hopes are crushed. Just think if back in the Marino days we had a good running game, like a Reggie Busch or Ricky Williams. Much more balance !! I'd say Marino would of got 1 or 2 rings I bet.

I remember Joe Namath, he was great and the older players made the NFL what is is today.

It seems today, games are controlled by the referees and injuries are so ridiculous anymore.

Case in point, the Patriots have a lousy team, yet they win, how?

How is it, a Baseball Team, who hadn't won a World Series in 100 years, not only has won 2 in the last 3 years, but had the worst record in baseball and all the sudden they win it all?

I really believe you want to be great and you want to be the best. It's something you can't coach.

Joe Namath had swagger, the 72 Dolphins had it, in a quite way, Don Shula had it.

What's changed today is the amount of pressure coaches have to win.

Case in point? Andy Reid, Alex Smith, the Chiefs, the Eagles.

You can't make fun of your offensive line player and expect to have a good team, and this my friend falls with the Leadership of this team.

You don't lose 4 in a row if you have a special Coach or special QB.

I'm with you there buddy...and then Don McNeil with a broke arm, tried to hold on to Riggins after he got trucked over...hope gone.

52 and been a fan since Shula's arrival in 1970. We need an owner like Joe Robbie. A man that sees what he wants and takes it.

37 and I was little boy watching abc with my Rawlings helmet as they plays the 49ers in the Super Bowl. I just want a winning season at this point.

39 here, and I remember that super bowl along with the infamous John Riggins run super bowl like it was yesterday. I was devastated as a kid watching them lose those two games, but damn did those teams, along with coach Shula make me love this team!! I feel sorry for the younger guys who haven't experienced the feeling of knowing you were going to be a GUARANTEED playoff caliber team every year. DAMN I MISS THOSE DAYS!

42 and will turn 43 next month been a life long dolphins fan for 35 years. I never want to lose hope but this season is sinking fast and the refs suck.

I agree, it all starts with the top, and Joe Robbie, for all his shortcomings, was an incredible owner who brought a winner here year in and year out. He would have NEVER allowed Jimmy Johnson to take over this team, and bull dozer Shula out of here like he did. The media starting with Dan LeBatard had so much to do with that also its sickening. All of a sudden Shula became a man who couldn't coach, even though this was a playoff team year in and year out. I miss Shula brother!!

45.. been a dolphin fan since 1975 . Frustrated with this team is an understatement , I hate these other posts with fans who are oviously in there early 20's or new fans of about 2 or 3 year fans who have no idea what they are talking about , telling other fin fans who are upset and frustrated with the team , to go root for another team or basically saying go pound sand. Its nice to see some older fans who understand the game and have the same feelings, I can't stand our coaching staff and G.M.and want to throw up in my mouth every time i see our new logo, never the less I'm a true fan and always will be, and nothing wrong with speeking our mind after years of dissapointment after year in and year out of the same B.S. if i could have way we would go out and pick up coach Gruden, dump Wallace for a couple of good receivers, beg some of thoes players we let go in the past to come back , we have seen almost everyone of the shine elsewhere, and please most of all bring back our real logo last years or the great 70's logo.
