Older Dolphin fans

Dad took me to see flipper as a toddler so I've been a fan my whole life and i'm in my 50's.

42 here. I was a Fin at 1, when my mom put a Fins t shirt on me. Followed them since I can remember. I loved the Sundays when Danny would play and it would be like magic when he went to work.
It lloks like year two of Tanny Philbin was promising. 1st year jitters gone from both. I thought both men were smart. But a bad o-line screwed it all up. Tanny shares blame for being unable to hold onto the ball, and Philbin for his sloth in the NE game where WE were using up so much clock, we got a delay of game penalty down 10.
I've lost faith this season after buffalo and NE. The team needs to do SOMETHING to get me back.

That's the problem....It's the same song and dance, year after year..only the characters change.

I'm 49.....Been a Dolphin fan since 1970.....How many other Dolphin fans here around
my age, considering what our team has done the last decade, are starting to have that
sickning feeling,we might NEVER see another SuperBowl win?

Count me in. I'm 49 and been a fan since 72. I tell my kids I don't think I will see another miami sb before I'm gone. But we did have decades of dominance which was so enjoyable while living in ny.

48 and longing for the good ole days....I used to play electric football when I was a kid, the whole neighborhood did, and I ordered 4 sets of Miami Dolphins from Tudor Games. I would get a fan magazine and cut out the tiny names and paste them on the backs of the tiny plastic players along with the stick-on numbers...I had the entire roster at one point.

Damn, I miss winning....

Had the same feeling today....might not get to see a SB winner again ( should be one every 32 yrs)

I'm 47 and a fan since '71. If there is such a thing as destiny, I was hoping that my kids ( 8 and 5 yrs) would see a SB victory within the next couple of yrs. I could then pass on this curse to the next generation.

48 been a dolphins fan since watching the Christmas Day game against KC that went double overtime with my Dad who told me that Csonka and Shula were from Ohio. I'll never give up hope that we win another SB cause living in Ohio you get used to teams losing all the time and with out hope you might as well quit watching football

Same here with the Cubs....ain't it just fun right now??

46. Been a fan since 5. Up until Marino's retirement, I felt we had a legit chance every single year to make it back to the SB. Not one year since have I felt that way. Also a Cubs fan and I am beginning to wonder if I just have some affinity to the "lovable loser" teams????

48 and fan since '73.

Grew up in Redskin territory ( and still there). I remember the days of checking the tv guide and praying the the Fins would be shown on tv that week. Other wise I was relegated to the "10 minute ticker" and Howard Cosells halftime highlights to keep up with my team. Thank God for the Sunday ticket.

I have been a Dolfan since 1975 and I am worried we may never see a good team again, much less a SB.

I have been a Dolphin Fan since 1966. I am 62 yrs old and have been through the great times and for the past 40 tough times. Still love my fins and wear my Marino or my csonka jersey for every game. Will die being a dolphins fan. Would wish things would turn around quicker than they are but young team with lots of future. Gooooooooo Fins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fellow old timers I have a question do you think part of the problem is everyone want it now back in the old days ( always wanted to say that) a coach got at least 3 years just to get his team the way he wanted it. QB sat for the first 2 to 3 years to learn, they weren't thrown in to sink or swim. Now if it doesn't work in a year and a half everyone wants to junk it and start over and all that happens is you keep repeating it again and again

37 and I was little boy watching abc with my Rawlings helmet as they plays the 49ers in the Super Bowl. I just want a winning season at this point.

53... I started rooting for this team around '68-'69 I watched us lose the SB to the Cowboys in '71, but man did I have bragging rights with my buddies the two years after that!
And yes, I know that technically the loss to the Cowboys was in '72, but it was the 1971 season so I refer to it that way.
