Older Dolphin fans

I'll be 49 Sat. I keep thinkimg I'm going to read one morning that the Dolphins are moving to L.A. or London. This is my biggest fear.

I'm 49.....Been a Dolphin fan since 1970.....How many other Dolphin fans here around
my age, considering what our team has done the last decade, are starting to have that
sickning feeling,we might NEVER see another SuperBowl win?

I'm 54 and was there for the first season. I grew up in Coral Gables and my dad had season tickets--I have some incredible memories and saw first hand some of the greatest players of all time, like Simpson, Sanders, Unitas and Namath. I even attended the Jets--Colts Super Bowl in Miami--and before the game got autographs from many of the players who were staying at the Fountainbleu Hotel. I cherish those memories. My two sons, fortunately or unfortunately, are also Phins fans and I'm hopeful that one day we will all enjoy another super bowl victory. I have to say that tonights game was one of the greatest Dolphin victories I've ever seen, and that's saying alot! Go Phins!

I am your age and I feel we will never see any serious changes until we get out of Miami.

That is our number 1 problem. Because the market sucks for whatever reason. People will not show up even if we win on reg. basis. They buy tickets to sell. thats all you need to know. A new regime wont change that.

Obviously, you have never been to the Orange Bowl, or Joe Robbie stadium when the dolphins were constantly putting a winning product on the field. You win and people will come, its really that simple of a concept!c Im so tired of people who aren't even from Miami, saying that its the fans and this cities fault that this team has underachieved over and over again the last decade or so! Ive been a season ticket holder since I was 8 years old with my Dad, and have gone to every game. I can tell you, that when the Dolphins win, that stadium gets packed. Even tonight, even though stadium was not even close to sold out, it was a great atmosphere. If you are from Miami, and go to the games regularly I apologize for this post. If you aren't living in Miami or go to games religiously like a lot of people down here do, then please don't comment on something you aren't even there to witness or even are a part of first hand . Just keep watching from your sofa, like 99% of people in here who love to b..tch about the fans down here and how we somehow affect the product on the field every year!

52 YO was walking into the OB as Joe Auer was returning our opening pre season kick off for a TD against the Raiders. My family had season tix for the first four seasons so went to several of those games a year. I Played little league in Miami so my fall weekends were my game sat morning possibly Hurricanes sat nite and Pro football Sunday. I remember the Dynasty like it was yesterday and for me it is as meaningful as ever. If another team wants to talk the best I get out the Perfect season hammer and smash their argument. Best coach Shoes hands down. That will be the legacy of those SB teams and two very nice nuggets to carry around in fans pockets.

I was at the game in Indy when Dan threw the TD record beaking pass to Byers 343 and there a few weeks ago with the nice win agasint the colts. Ive seen them play in Lambeau, Rich stadium Giants stadium ,Lucas oil & RCA Dome

I feel for the younger folk here that dont have such vivid memories to and it brings a smile to my face when I think back on it all and realize how lucky I was to witness the awesome success of this franchise when Shoes came in and turned things around. Ill put it up against any of the other dyanasties or teams histories and legacies. And you might want to check but i think if you go to the hall of fame site and look up franchise winning percentage we are still near the top of that list at 600%

That being said you younger fans need to put into reality how lucky you are. In Feb of 2012 I was diagnosed with cancer and im fighting to this day. I literally stayed in a hosp room a few doors down from coach Pagano here in Indy last year who is in remisssion now. I wont be seeing this team ever put on a show like the one they did when the Fins were perfect. I will miss the anticipation of having new hope every year that the Fins will get it together and make a championship run. Count your blessings

I know this is not the appropriate venue, but keep fighting, and I hope you win this battle! Its the most important of all! STAY STRONG!

I'll be 43 tomorrow. Been a fan since 1977. AJ Duhe was rookie defensive player of year! Awesome LB #77! I have never wavered in my devotion to the Dolphins. I just want one SB win. Seen them lose twice. Go Dolphins

You had a nice birthday present last night!

at least you guys have seen super bowls. younger phin fans(and a Jet fan like myself) may never see a SB and you guys saw multiple wins and more apps.
Im 48 and even though I was around 7 when the Fins were great and in the glory years not all of us became fans that young. I was a middle school-er when I really started enjoying the team so really even at 48...Watching them "WIN" a SB is still a "Dream"

Marino's rise to stardom was about as good as it has been.

BTW...This years team has NO offense. They won with D last night but the offense must get better & fast.

If that happened...would you still be as devoted? I feel like that would be the key to me leaving the Fins for good...just would not be the same

Praying for you to recover completely Brother...Hang tough & enjoy every day

Guess it depends on how long you plan to live. I'm 53, fan since 1970. I think I'll see another SB. The Chiefs are 8-0, anything can happen.

46 I have been a fan since 72 when they were on the news all the time during the undefeated season. I live in the middle of NFC north country and always have the fins flag flying in front of my house. I take a lot of **** from my buddies but it used to be you knew we were going to be solid and we had a chance every year. The last 3 or 4 coaches/GM have made it very hard to keep the faith. Let's hope that RT turns out to be the guy and we can build around him if not we are right back to square one. Fins up

I´m 53 and became a Dolfan after Dallas beat Maimi in SB. It´s been a long time with a lot of satisfactions and frustrations (most of them). I only have two jerseys and wear them with pride: Dan the Man and Jason Taylor (pro bowl by the way). Can´t imagine rooting for other team, die hard fan.
Hope we can see our team in playoffs first and then in a run for the Suoer Bowl in the near future.

48, Dolphin fan since childhood, never even winked at another team despite pressure to like Jets or giants living in NJ. Biggest job now is getting my 9 year old son to represent despite ribbing from Jets, Giants, Eagles fans. I'm progressing but continued sucking won't make it easy. Fins for life!
