I don't think anybody is saying he's completely horrible, but he's definately NOT worth the salary he's currently under contract for. I think everybody is saying that he should restructure his contract (considering his down year, and a majority of his misses were not from 45 or 50 + yards so that's no excuse). If he restructures so we can save some cap space, then keep him. If not, the show him the door and let somebody else overpay him. While kicking is an important part of the game, he's not been a clutch/automatic kicker like Adam V. has been, so why pay him millions ? Because he can kick off really well ? Sorry, going to have to do better than that.
 
I think if Olindo doesn't take a pay cut i would release him.This needs to save enough money to sign players such as Briggs and Samuel if there gonna have any chance.I know 5 of Mare misses were from 50 yards plus but i believed he missed 2 from 41 and another from 34 and to me thats not cutting it. I hate to waste a draft pick on another k but i also read somewhere that the phins signed some kicker for 2 years, so i guess we'll see how it shakes down

We have needs at defensive tackle, left tackle, speed at reciever, young quarterback, strongside linebacker and corner but you want to spend a 3rd on a KICKER?

Spending a day one pick on a kicker is ridiculous, I don't care how good he is...

If Mare wants to take a paycut I'd bring him back, if he balks I cut him that second. Bring in a few guys and let them compete for the gig. Do NOT draft a kicked during the first day.
 
I think we should keep Mare...he's still one of the best kickers in the game..he has great kickoffs and one of the best at onsides kicks...I think he's gonna have a great year...I think he was just in a slump last year and this year he'll be great.
 
There has to be a good kicker in the later rounds. I agree not signing a Kicker with a 3rd round pick but Mare has to go.
 
gone....I get sick to my stomach every time right before we attempt a field goal. We can not count on this guy.
 
Don't draft a kicker at all, it is just a waste. Most of the top kickers in the NFL today were undrafted free agents. Robbie Gould is representing the NFC in the pro-bowl. Surely he had to have been a first day pick. Oh wait, he wasn't drafted at all....Don't draft Crosby, draft for value.

Good post! Totally agree, would like to keep him but not unless he takes a serious pay cut and helps our cap room.
 
get a FA for less money, kickers can win or lose games and Mare doesn't cut it. there are kickers out there for less money who are better, get a kicker who can win some games and save money in the process
 
First of all i reallt dont think we should bicker about how much we are over paying Mare.....Kickers dont make that much any ways so we wouldnt save that much money......i think he struggled over 50+ this year and in the past thats when hes been awsome.....he also hurt us in big situations but i think he is worth keeping with a weak Free Agenct and draft for kickers....Pay cut and hes ours!!!

I dont feel like wasting a 3rd pick on a kicker(Mason Crosby)
