Saban knows that with more effort and better technique, these players would at least be playing closer to the max of their abilities, whatever that may be. I'm not surprised that McDougle got demoted, he wasn't doing so hot.
Oline not buying into coaches system is very disturbing.

I think that Saban was just saying, the havent grasped the system yet, in different words... it takes time i imagine to learn Houck's new, more complex zone blocking scheme... If i remember correctly, I read somewhere that Tony Wise basically implemented a man on man approach...
