I'm down with Zimmer. Haley would be the cherry on top, the chiefs gave up on him too soon imo. Make it happen Ross and I'll fly out to see a game from Eastern Canada this season.

I really don't want another cowboy cast off. It's time we distance ourselves as much as we can from Parcells. Plus I think we really need to try an offensive coach again. Cam Cameron was a huge mistake, but that doesn't mean Carmichael or Philbin will be the same.

If you read the whole article, its because it gives him greater knowledge of the passing game, which has become more prominent in today's NFL.

Exactly.. I'm sick and tired of ANYTHING Dallas related. Besides, I'm not overly impressed with the Bengals offense.

If we're going to go the coordinator route, give me Chud, Carmichael, or Philbin

Yup!! Another reason why this could all come together quite conveniently...
As tough as it may be, we all need to have faith. I'm so sick of going to Fins games and feeling like I'm in the away stadium.
Just ridiculous... So it's time for Ross to get Zimmer ,so we can all relax and watch this off season workout successfully.
I am very optimistic about this team. We have the financial resources ,and an owner who needs to put his money where his mouth is.
I think he will do anything and everything in his power to get the Top 2 QB prospects..
I'm willing to trade the house for Luck ,and a little less for RG3 even though I see a supreme talent in him..Go Dolphins!!

Zimmer is the Bengals DC..He has coached both 34 and 43 schemes.
I would hate to dismantle our talented defense right when they're beginning to gel into an elite defense.
Towards the end of the year they played extremely fast ,and I see Zimmer keeping that fire alive.

i really don't want zimmer in here, would prefer, the philbin and his packer staff, but the only thing i see holding philbin back is the that passed away is in wisconsin, not sure if the family would leave because of that i am pretty sure they want to be as close as possible, that is going to play a big part in his decision

• For those who don't know....Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is viewed as the front runner to become the Dolphins next head coach because of his existing relationship with GM Jeff Ireland. However, the Dolphins better make sure Zimmer has a good OC in mind. If its Todd Haley....done deal.

It would be nice if Omar shared with us why and who views Zimmer as the frontrunner. So far nothing has been said regarding frontrunners. I think Omar is full of it again.

I'm ok with us shopping around for the best person to take over (if that's what we are doing), but we've wasted a lot of time already with the whole Fisher disaster, so I would hope they are at least expediting this search process a little and getting candidates in so we can decide before other teams come in a swoop up the best options left out there. If they really think it's Zimmer, then make the offer. If they are not sure, then they need to be getting guys like Chud & Carmichael interviewed. McCoy is fine to talk to, but I'd be shocked if he was really an option. Tick, tick, tick boys. And I'm not be impatient, I'm being realistic. There's a bunch of teams still looking for coaches and we can't assume (especially after STL) that we are in any better position to get someone than any other team.

uh, Zimmer coaches the Defense.

and Carmichael and Philbin really have that X and O personality to me, from what i have seen of them in interviews etc. philbin doesnt call plays from what i know, and carmichael has a ton of talent on his team. i am not sold that these guys have the motivational hard nosed aspect of a HC, but i could be wrong.

Chud, for some reason people say is "not ready" maybe im not sure why.

imo, Zimmer has the intangibles, but i really havnt met any of these people so who knows.

going all in for jeff fisher, now basing decisions on who once worked for the cowboys doesnt sound like a very informed opinion. but thats just my point of view.

The 'waiting around crap' is just impatient fans. I am glad they are being thorough in their search and maybe Zimmer is their top choice but he is not their only one.

Agreed. How many times has the phins brass rushed to judgment?
