If you don't come to terms with the FACT South Florida has some of the worst sports fans in the nation you're in denial. Its undeniable.

RT @JoeyEverington: Its undeniable> Because there is no fan base. Everyone here is from some where else»that's accurate, but still an excuse

Also, the Dolphins have been pumping crowd noise into practices this week to prepare for a HOME GAME. That is how bad they view the fan base, they expect the stadium to be full of Patriots fans. I have been saying this has been a problem for years but just get told "It's the economy", "Fans won't show up because they don't always win", "Everyone is a transplant", blah blah blah.

Might have taken some time, but local sports writers and even the Dolphins themselves are acknowledging the problems that have realistically been going on for over a decade. Don't give me, "if they win the fans will come", we know that is not the case because of the poor attendance when the team is in the playoff hunt and that playoff games don't always sell out. Not to mention the large amount of opposing fans that show up.

...and the absolute worst beat writers, with Omar leading the way!

It's sad, but it is what it is I guess. Can't force natives or transplants to show up.

If Omar were a better writer, more people would read about the Fins and come to games. Omar's fault IMO.

You all made fun of Omar so effectively that I got nothing to add. Good work.

Or they have some of the smartest fans in the country. They don't mindlessly plunk down their money when the teams lose.

When this guy starts talking line play, then I will listen.

Are we really surprised? Look how the reaction the fans have had to this offseason.

The fans wanted a new HC.. so Ross try's to hire Jim Harbaugh in a highly documented and reported trip that ended up with no new HC. Even if Ross was beeing honest when he said he was not really trying to replace Sparano most people are going to view it that way.

The FO (whether it was right or wrong) spent another high draft pick on the Oline. A line we have been trying to fix for years. Since our HC was a former Oline coach.. this doesn't come across well

There was another highly publisized event in which the FO tryed to find a new QB. Everyone became focused on Orton and with the amount of Henne hatred at the time fans were besides themselve with glee. Well, that didn't work out either so fans feel we are stuck with the second best option (henne).

At the public practice at SL stadium, fans bood henne and chanted for Orton. This was highly publisized as well even if it was only a few fans.

Sports writers (like Omar) have been faning the flames with some of their stories.

In the last 10 (2000-2010)years we have had only 4 winning seasons.

The Previous 10 (1990-1999) we never had a losing season.

We havent won a playoff game in 10 years (2000)

We havent been to the AFC championship game in 19 years (1992)

We havent been to the Super bowl in 27 years (1984)

We havent won the super bowl in 38 years (1974)

In my mind it all went down hill Marino's last game. The blowout loss to jacksonville in a playoff game. We have never been the same since.

As much as I hate to see the staduim empty (It can make me mad at times) I have to remind myself of what I mentioned above. I am a die hard miami fan. I will root for the team no mater what but I do understand (even if I dont agree with it) why people choose to spend their time else where. Until we start winning again, this is what wew are going to have to deal with every year.

I mentioned that last week as well.

The out of towners on the board want us to continue to waste money on a bad product so THEY can feel good...

Why should we continue to waste our hard earned money?

You must enjoy posting these stories so much. If you wanted to go the game so bad, move down here and do it. Stop bashing the rest of us.

I will watch at home for FREE now.

It's sad, but it is what it is I guess. Can't force natives or transplants to show up.

The transplants is pretty big down here.

What happens when the transplants have children...they become fans of their PARENTS team.

Yet the out of towners don't realize it.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results. This franchise has done the same thing over and over for years. Fans are loyal but mostly not insane.
You add to that the fiasco that was the end of last season, the broken promises, appearances of a disfunctional FO, and, bam .... Omar is the one in denial and the one not coming to terms with reality.

Omar's BS reminds me of some Pink Floyd lyrics from Brain Damage; Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs.
Got to keep the loonies on the path.
