One man's crusade againts joe philbin

Maybe Michael should have left those girls alone.

You understand, Michael was not the one we interviewed. So, I fail to see how what Michael did as a 17 year old has to do with how his dad will fair as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. Philbin is not the guy I want us to hire, but it has nothing to do with what his dead son did.

This means nothing when it comes to whether this guy will be a good coach.
Nothing like kicking a guy when he's down

i would be more concerned if philbin is mentally capable of a managing a team right now. the next 3-4 months are very important. its hard to imagine where his head is right now.

Andy Reid has had both his sons incarcerated on multiple drug charges.. maybe the Eagles should let him go immediately.

What Philbin's son did was contemptible, he deserved more punishment; it happened when both he and the victims were under 18 in a party setting. That's no excuse but it's not like he was a stranger laying in wait either. When you have police chiefs' and mayors' children being arrested for everything from drugs to murder etc. IMO it's ridiculous to tar the guy that Aaron Rodgers "loves and has the utmost respect for" on the basis of sins of his son, no matter how relatively egregious. Hell the former governor of FLorida, Jeb Bush's daughter was arrested several times for drug offenses including the federal one of forging prescription scripts. Should he have been removed from office?

Time to get off your high horse and concentrate on concerns over coaches over which they actually have control.
Vaark, Jeb Bush should not be removed. He should step down and be there for his daughter who obviously needed him. Your family should be the most important people in your life. The problem is people are so consumed with their jobs and profession that they forget they have a family at home that need a hug or even a listening ear. It's not about being on a high horse, it is about knowing what is important and do we as parents really do everything possible to raise good citizens.

So the guys dead son is going to be running around South Florida getting into trouble?

I suppose we wouldn't want Andy Reid either than because his boys were arrested for heroin possession.

There is a difference b/w ruining your OWN body and inflicting harm on ANOTHER...

Give me a football reason not to hire him. This isnt the good morals league. Would i not draft lawrence taylors son because his dad does coke and bangs escorts? Nope. Sign on the dotted line son.

As a matter of fact I have 1 girl and 1 boy.
Let me guess, are they both young?
By the time they are 17, there's not much you can do anymore. They have been told a million times what's right and wrong and you have to hope they make good choices. Sometimes no matter what you do, they still make make bad ones. I did when I was 17 and most likely, you did too.
This kid made some real bad ones but imo, that doesn't mean Joe Philbin was a bad parent.
I'm sorry, you seemed a little too idealistic for the real world

Inflicting harm? On who? He had consentual sex with 2 girls at a party, with a 1 year differance between them. If that's "inflicting harm", then you're not very good at it. Unless, of course, you're on the set of the "Teeth" movie

What we dont need is more drama. If the miami press gets an itch this issue will be lingering.

How about he is Sparano part 2?

Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin “isn’t a quarterback guy — he’s more of an offensive line guy. He’s not the play-caller,” Gannon said. “[Cincinnati offensive coordinator] Jay Gruden is outstanding, but he’s not leaving. [Carolina offensive coordinator] Rob Chudzinski is probably the next guy who’s left.”

ugh, if a 10 year old brings a gun to school, I blame the parents. a 16,17,18+ year old... they are old enough to know the difference between right or wrong, and should be held accountable for thier own mistakes.

Maybe I am Rent, and kids will still do stupid things even though the parents taught them right and wrong. But when that boy does something as hanus as this, how can we not question the way he was raised?
