Is there room on the roster for a wildcat-only backup QB? I do not have much confidence that Lance's tools would make him successful in McDaneil's base offense. Lance is practically the opposite of what is needed, the anti-Tua of you will (though Tua is closer to Lance in mobility than Lance is to Tua in accuracy or anticipation).

Nope. This roster is tight. Gonna be enough hard decisions without keeping a Pat White-style unnecessary player.
 
I would love this for no other reason than to perfectly close out the original trade with 49ers. Dolphins end up with Hill, Waddle, Chubb AND Trey Lance.

With the Dolphins offence being a timing offence I doubt Lance would fit in. He's still throwing behind receivers in Dallas who aren't as quick as Hill & Waddle.
Bring Tannehill home please he's got to be better than Thompson or White
