definitely NOT what you want to see out of our qb who has this year to prove to hickey and philbin that he has turned a corner and fixed his issues and is ready to take his place as the leader and get that big money and extension. this isnt looking so promising though at this point. this is the reports from the practices on tanny and what stood out to me in this report..................... .

Ryan Tannehill overthrows an open Mike Wallace during 7-on-7. Where have I seen this before?
Ryan Tannehill holds onto the ball too long during 7-on-7, scrambles, tannehill overthrows Wallace on deep route.
Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill goes deep for Mike Wallace on 7-on-7...But the ball is overthrown.
Jamar Taylor drops an interception on a Tannehill pass. He jumped the route to Wallace.
Philip Wheeler breaks up a Tannehill pass to Charles Clay, which was telegraphed.
Cortland Finnegan drops a possible interception on Tannehill. ball was thrown BEHIND his receiver.
Towards the end of practice, Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill throws a pick to CB Cortland Finnegan.
The Dolphins conclude practice.
WELL, THATS PRACTICE ONE. not a good opening for tanny at all. awful actually.

SOMETHING GOOD!!!! cortland finnegan stood way out in this report for just the opposite, making plays and big hits all over the field! a couple things i liked from him at the end..... .
THERE WAS LOT of big time plays for finnegan in that report. after all the picks and forced fumbles and defensed passes for no gain, he sticks around and tutors the young guys.
hickey just MAY be smarter than we all thought on finnegan! this a great thing as he is an enforcer and an intimidater, something we have lacked in the cb department for years!! this team of grimes and finnegan, if they continue this way can make this defense rise up to a new level and we will cease to see the constant big plays downfield on us, teams throwing and completing at will.
but tanny, man....., yes, we have a ways to go and i know the homers are coming with the "oooh, you dont understand, its a new offense and he will come around and be great".
problem with that is, these are not NEW mistakes by tanny. they are all the ones that have plagued him since day one. these are 7 on 7 drills with no heavy rush!! and this year, with all thats on the line for him, his team, his contract, proving he is a TRUE franchise qb is just like 4th and 10, 8 points down with the ball in his hands at the 20 yd line.. crunch time!! 2 seconds on the clock, time to rise like the true winners do. EVERYTHING TO PLAY FOR!!
and in those situations so far, on the field, he has left a lot of people wondering. this coming into camp and laying the kind of egg he did on day one leaves one to question him even further. his ability to win, when its all on the line as it is now, with his future and career on the line is like getting sacked or missing a wide open wr in the endzone for the win with 2 seconds left on the clock. win or go home and its all on that play. he cant do this during the season or he and the dolphins are finished. the finz another season, for tanny, his career.
mike wallace, once again is open all the time and tanny just can not hit him. what is it with him? mental block? its just plain weird.

Please post videos demonstrating their love and enthusiasm for the man. It's not like a player can really bad mouth a coach in public. Are you going to openly say bad hints about your boss?

So Ross is planning on moving the seats closer to the field and putting a canopy over the stands because he has not pulse as the needs and desires of the fans?
SKAPEFIN: you are getting more off by the day. i dont think i have ever seen a poster with so many off base positions, even in the face of fan after fan posting FACTS that crumble your rants and you either refuse it or are just plain ignoring it all.

Funny, I didn't say a damn thing about Hickey. I've taken a wait and see approach with him and have been rather complimentary of him overall. I still don't think he will pan out in the long run simply because I find it rather miraculous for a 6th choice to become a stud GM, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility. Everything I outlined above was in relation to Philblin, with whom we have 2 years of documented history to form an opinion based on FACTS. I am sorry you don't like my interpretation of the FACTS.
I've seen this show before with every other failed coach we have had, Wanny, Cameron, Sparano. It's the denial stage after investing your hopes in a coach. I did it myself with Sparano until it couldn't be ignored. I am certain the same will be true of you all with Philbin. He isn't HC material. It is what it is.

None of those sound like quotes from men that are in love with the guy. In fact, many even sound like backhanded compliments.
Hartline saying he's not as rigid... Tanehill saying he has a dry sense of humor so they rip him as much as possible. Wake joking on his baldness... Ya, that sounds like real affection there! It actually reminds me of how players talked about Wanny, joking about his mustache and lobster traps.

You can spin it however you want but does those "backhanded compliments" sounds like a coach who is disconnected from his players? A coach who is disconnected from his players would not let his players rip on him like that. He would not let his player "trash talk" him. He would not have told his players it is time for you to stick up for yourselves when the media was trying to trash them over the "bullygate" crap.

Omar did say Tannehill had the biggest arm at camp by a mile. A light bulb went off for me the other day when I finally got around to watching the rest of the "Brady Six" episode, Brady said he thrives on competition, its what drives him and is likely the reason the Patriots selected a QB in the second round. It had nothing to do with planning for the future and everything to do with pushing Brady and Brady himself was probably not only OK with it but demanded it.
The biggest disappointment for me by a mile is we didn't bring in any serious competition for Tannehill in a pretty deep QB draft, and I'm as intrigued as you are by Brock Jensen but if we're being honest he doesn't have a prayer at threatening Tannehill's job this season.
