I do not agree we had a legit talent roster.

Besides Grimes and Clay, no one did anything week in and week out to help this team, the qb had his moments of greatness but not enough. The OL was horrid, no ruuning game, WRs were average, run D was ****ty.

Compare that to Jim Schwartz who actuality NAMED Ndomukong Suh one of the Lions' team captains. This is after 6 unprovoked and often vicious uncontrollable attacks on opponents. Yes actually named, not voted by his peers.

And dovetailing in with the Pouncey thread in the context of mandated dog and pony BS psychological tests for words compared to junkies like Irsay and misogynistic batterers like Ray Rice.. in a league where nearly 7 out of 10 players are men of color, not only should Suh have been sent for extensive anger management courses , but also possibly racial sensitivity classes considering all his victims were Caucasian. But I guess words speak louder than actions when it comes to PC appeasement, eh?

Oh, in general, if you hate our owner and hate our coach, just stop supporting them in protest - assuming from up in Washington you are in the least. And if you're not, and have no stake in the state of the fins other than pissing and moaning on a forum - then maybe you should just step away until the coach and owner are gone. Ya think?

Yeah and we had to resort to other teams practice squad players to compete with New England, it worked out but its not something I would want to rely on week in week out.
 
I'm done. I understand the impulse to hitch your wagon to an existing coach, no matter how underperforming they are. I know that in time the truth will be revealed to all and the cycle of mediocre coach worship will begin anew until we finally have one worth a damn. Philbin has shown nothing special and all anyone can point as positives is a laundry list of excuses to absolve him from all blame of any problem that occurred. Oh well, i will let you all live in delusion until the bubble bursts. No skin off my back.

And to clarify, I do not hate Philbin, he didn't force himself to be HC, he took a job to better his family, etc. I just recognize that he isn't the answer to our problems and he is better served as a position coach just like Sparano. Most people aren't cut out to be the top dog, and Philbin isn't either. It's clear to anyone without the orange-tinted glasses. It is what it is, and nothing will convince anyone of anything other than what they want to believe until reality slaps them in the face. Trends are simply not in the favor of Philbin suddenly becoming he next Shula.

My take is if he isn't on that track, why waste any more time? Oh well, I'm used to the Dolphins wasting my time, so I will hang around regardless. Adios muchachos.

Why does he have to be the next Shula? Are Tom Coughlin, Mike McCarthy, Pete Carroll, Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh all on par with Don Shula?
 
all ready loving the offense...but jesus RT Step it up. If you can't make the jump this year you NEVER will.

Petty simple for those who have been following the Dolphins since Shula exit its called churning which leads to miedorcre team we have been enduring. New GM's and coaches bring new structure and rebuilding projects which retards the growth of the team. The only coach that really had a winning record since Shula was Dave Wanstant (which most Dolphin fans are not fans of) but Dave W. won more than the rest of them because Dave W. did not churn the team he inherrited from Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy Johnson had built a good defense but was lacking in the offense department which Dave recognized and then traded for Ricky Williams and guess what we had a playoff team. Jeff Ireland chose McCoy over Philbin IMO for that reason recognizing that Philbin want to churn the team in his image while McCoy was willing to work with the foundation that was already there. Anyway we will see maybe you just might be right we have the right man for the job but so far I am not betting on it.
 
Judging a player by a single practice no one saw themselves....ok...

THERE WAS LOT of big time plays for finnegan in that report. after all the picks and forced fumbles and defensed passes for no gain, he sticks around and tutors the young guys.

hickey just MAY be smarter than we all thought on finnegan! this a great thing as he is an enforcer and an intimidater, something we have lacked in the cb department for years!! this team of grimes and finnegan, if they continue this way can make this defense rise up to a new level and we will cease to see the constant big plays downfield on us, teams throwing and completing at will.

back on topic, correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought there was not supposed to be any hitting or contact during OTA's? That's why the rookie Zach martin for the cowboys may be in trouble, for rolling up on the LB Lee and injuring him...
