Our coaches vs other play off teams

Principal Philbin isn't even in the same area code as the other playoff HCs. All of them have at least one visible strong suit, whether it be tactical expertise, motivational skills, leadership, etc. Philbin isn't strong in any area other than organizational skills. That's great for an accountant or an event planner, but doesn't really give a football team a huge edge.

The only game I felt the team was totally unprepared for was the Tampa game which occurred at the height of bully-gate, you can put that on the coaches if you want but that was an unprecedented event that maybe only 3 or 4 coaches in the NFL could have overcome. For the Jets game I think the defense just lost whatever energy they might have had due to the offense being so inept. Momentum-faith-confidence-belief or whatever you want to call it is a powerful drug, just look at what happened to the Chiefs. Again, you can put some of the blame on the coaching staff for the offense being inept but Ireland definitely played a role in that and, personally, I put a lot of the blame for that on the QB. Tannehill slid feet first on a third down coming up just short whereas Russell Wilson dives head first placing the ball directly on the line to gain, imo little things like that go a long way towards firing up the rest of the team.

How about BoTH Bills games?? They looked flat lost and inept out there from the start of those games

Tannehill spotted them a 17 point lead in the first game, it was a damn near miracle we killed them from there until Tannehill audibled on that final turnover. Tannehill played like complete dog**** but the team didn't give up, thats a sign of good coaching.

Tannehill was a major reason we even got back in the game!! He turned it around in the middle of the game to throw 3 TDs. But then a bozo call from the OC which Philbin OKd officially killed our chances when we were ahead.

The whole team was flat that game to begin, not just Tannehill. The D was giving up chunk yardage to a scrub 3rd string QB

I believe a lot of us feel like Philbin isn't cutting it. Especially after the last two game failures.

Unfortunately, there isn't too much groundswell to boot him out after the obvious endorsement by Ross. But he will desrvedly be on the hot seat this year. Philbin can't blame Sherman or Ireland this year. He does take blame if Zach Taylor is retained, and RT still can't get the deep ball figured out.

Agreed. Many Dolfans believed that the Dolphins were out game-planned/out-coached in many games last year. AND rarely did it appear the Dolphins made good in-game or half time adjustments last year. I know many times you could tell what the play was based on the formation and I don't mean just the Go GoGo thing. It just seemed that in many games the Dolphins had the better talent and the other team had the better coaching. It's just perception; but I'm not sure how many Dolfans feel we have a top 10 coaching staff.

The bozo called a run that play and Tannehill audibled to a pass so if you're pinning the loss on that play then Tannehill is solely to blame. I wonder if Russell Wilson would be dumb enough to audible in that situation, me thinks not.
