Our Shady McCoy

Lamar Miller is one of the main reasons why Ireland is unemployed.

Lamar Miller just doesn't have the instincts to be like Shady McCoy. You either have the ability to hit the hole and break nice runs or you don't. I could see us drafting a RB like Bishop Sankey, Lache Seastrunk or Ka'Deem Carey.
 
If Miller could break a fingertip tackle he would have had a couple more hundred yards
 
i think kadeem carey shows some lesean mccoy like qualities...but i don't have enough conviction to burn a top 50 pick on him to find out...
 
Miller is okay but somehow he prompts fans to think he's extra special. I've followed him since he played at Killian. The evolution of opinion on him here is very similar to how it played out on Canes boards a few years ago. That's why I warned about Miller's weaknesses last offseason.

It's a little bit like Ronnie Brown because his yards per rush is always decent but he looks disappointing doing it, like he left yards out there. He's never trusted with a full load.

McCoy looked great at Pittsburgh. In the old days that type of ability would have translated to high first round. I concede I really miss those days, when running backs were gold. Every season in college football the first focus was on the freak running backs, knowing that they would be atop the draft with the ability to instantly transform a franchise. It's sad that so many younger fans didn't see those days and probably can't imagine it.
 
We first need some guys that can open holes for said RBs. I think McCoy would have struggled to get 4 ypc with our line like Miller did this season. I also think McCoy benefits from that wide open offense that they ran in Philly (which maybe our new o-coordinator might bring here... or at least some elements of?).
 
When was the last time we actually drafted a great RB?........Larry Zoncka?.....We drafted so many bad RB's that never lived up to their draft position......Lorenzo Hampton, Sammie Smith, Ronnie Brown....it's depresing.

Or we could have just drafted McCoy. Pat White is the pick that keeps giving.
