Pants!

It is very much relevant to the post. The thread is about color combos for the Dolphins uniform. The official color used by the Dolphins is Aqua, not teal. The Jacksonville Jaguars wear teal.

It's colloquial versus technical. I tend to gravitate to the former, and I think most people usually do.

It's irrelevant in that he's asking about what combo you (and I, and everyone else) likes best, and you respond with (essentially) "you said the wrong color". You're not answering the question *at all*.

Again, I'm not saying this to antagonize with you specifically. But it's a color, for god's sake. Like I said before, to me, it's GREEN. Sure, it's a particular shade of green, and if you're very particular about it, you can also reference it by hex code, pantone, or whatever else you please. But it undermines the point of the post completely.

Like in my job (IT security). You have people calling anything "the computer". Even it's a firewall, a propietary appliance, a server... whatever. Most people usually say "the thing is broken" or "the network is down". To beat everyone over the head with a stick saying "it's not the network, it's the firewall" is pointless (trust me, I've tried). People just - don't - care about the correct technical term.

But I trust I've made this bigger than I wanted, so I'll just leave it at that.

You call it GREEN? Ok that's just an insult. If you're gonna totally mislabel this blue/green mixture, and least call it blue.

Heh. In spanish, we call it "verde agua" (roughly, "green like water"). So that's probably where the green association comes from.

So talking about players and practice is boring but talking about the correct color of their uniform is not? Am I on the correct site?

You are correct sir.

But also, to the guy who was referring to it as green, thats completely fine. For example, some people see pink and label it as a red. Color is all relative to if the person knows a name for each shade of it to relate it to.

Also, this was on the wikipedia link for teal:

The Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League use teal as their primary color. The Miami Dolphins use a teal-like color called "aqua green".

It seems to me the old school uniforms (which are 100x more hardcore and wicked looking) are different in color and are much smoother.

Whenever I play Madden I always make the Dolphins wear orange jerseys with aqua pants. They've never done it in real life, but they should... it looks kickass.

I think the orange jerseys are ugly to honest, would rather just have a Throwback alternate. That thanksgiving game still gives me goosebumps. We looked real good.

Yeah! How dare we talk about something related to the Dolphins on here

I'm not sure if you intended to direct this message to me but my OP has nothing to do with arguing about a color.
and yeah talking about the same subject in 100 different threads is boring due to the repetitiveness.

says the guy with the "trendy" black and white self portrait for an avatar .....

I like the white on white for day games, but when the lights go on for primetime, the aqua on aqua look really slick. I like the orange jerseys, but I am of the belief they should be used sparingly. I've always hated the white jersey with aqua pants. It just looks really bland to me.
