Pasquarleli on ricky's weight

ummmm the only way you gain weight is by eating..you dont gain weight from just working out...you must consume more calories than you burn to add muscle..its just the way it is

Uhmm...your wrong dude. Adding muscle mass will increse weight. You have to nourish the growth, but it has to be lean protein. Of course you have to eat or you will die, but the kind of weight Ricky has to gain has nothing to do with munchies and has everything to do with initiating a conditioning program that will stimulate muscle growth. Unless of course you want to give him 5 cheeseburgers a day and have him swap pants with Pasqerbelly?!?

Very true as to the diet (munchies) part..there is more than enough caloric and protein count in a "normal" diet to add muscle mass...chugging protein shakes and eating fatty food will just give him bigger bowel movements and possibly add some flab.

super size him!! seriously tho. rickys weight had better get up to playing weight cos he wont be he same player.

nope...please dont argue with me on this subject...you increase muscle by eating...it has to be high in carbs and protein...you can work out as much as you want but if you dont eat eough you wont gain weight...and just eating protein will NOT make you gain muscle...YOU NEED CARBS

Not to get to far into the physiology of weight training but.... muscle mass is added by two means 1 increasing the fiber count 2 increasing the amount of fluid in the muscle bellies... Ricky has lost all of the fluid retention in the muscle bellies (called a "pump") that fluid weight could be ragained easily in 1 month of heavy weight training (probably 15 pounds or so) his fiber count is lower than when he was training but that loss is negligible maybe 5-10% but it is also the most difficult part to get back and may take another few months to add... since Ricky is retraining to get mass he has already had the process is much faster than trying to gain new mass....Ricky gaining back his weight is a very small hurdle more like a speed-bump. the other stuff.....
Yes your right but where do u think the fiber is getting its nutrition from...from the food taken in

its miniscule (protein needed to add mass).. I dont mean to get insulting but you read a lot of "muscle&fitness" dont you?

I'd rather see Ricky at 195 then 265.....he can always add the weight on between now and the start of the season....just have lunch with Vernon Carey and Seth McKinney a few times each week.

No problem. Send Ricky on an Alaskan cruise. I just took one and gained 12 pounds in a week. Damn freestyle cruising on the Norwegian Star. You eat wherever and whenever you want plus an ice cream bar that's open from 11 AM on. Everything comes with your cruise fare except a few specialty restaurants if you're stuffy. Suddenly I'm wearing waist 36 for the first time in my life and I only bought one pair. Easy decision every morning, at least.

On the subject of weight loss/gain ... I read a quote in my local paper today. They were quoting a comedian (whose name I don't recall). It went something like this ...

"I hear Ricky Williams lost about 40 pounds. He better hope the US Coast Guard doesn't find it before he does."

:roflmao:

I can't help but wonder if Ricky was so good at avoiding positive drug tests for illegal drugs, perhaps he found a was to ride the 'roid pony and not get caught either. Perhaps that is some of the explanation for the weight loss.

I'm not making an accusation, I am just thinking out loud. I don't trust the guy after several stabs in the back and then turning the knife.

He must be bored if he wrote six pages on gaining weight, or he is just stupid.

You didn't read the article. He only wrote a page and a half. The rest isn't about Ricky or the Dolphins.
