Pass Interference or No Pass Interference, that is the Question

Cro grabbed the back of his jersey and pulled himself in front. The replay they showed on Monday night, showed it, but it was not obvious. They were very close so the ref's might have missed it (like they missed the first one). Bad ball placement all night, second string QB.

well thats interesting...i'll have to check that out...the hand in the air from marshall tells me throw it out front and i'll go get it...

agreed the ball placement all night was bad but that should be an easy throw

It was illegal contact but Moore should have never thrown that ball especially to the outside knowing that Marshall was going to cut inside...

A) He was not cutting inside, he was falling because he had tripped himself. Look before any contact is made, Marshall is falling forward while Revis back pedals.

B) This goes back partly to the fact that Marshall does not try to run precise patterns. Within the redzone this is a serious problem because a QB rarely has time to make more then one read. And so when our QB is told to THROW TO MARSHALL, it is more of a "hope" then a "designed play".

No...you watch it. And not in that crap video which is posted. I have looked at it real close on the HD playback...Marshall is fully clear of Revis. Marshall lowers his shoulder and basically takes Revis on. I figure this was his attempt at "being a monster." Well, Revis just gives him a little tug and Marshall loses his balance. If anything, Marshall should have been called.

I have HD, but anyone could see this on a 5" pocket tv. I don't care if you think Marshall lowers his shoulder and takes on Revis. You can't hold and pull a jersey. It is a penalty. I don't care if the refs couldn't see it, nor do I care about why it was not called. It should have been, and anyone that knows football will tell you that.

Amen!!! FINALLY somebody gets it. One reasonable voice in a sea of whiny crybabies.
THANK YOU.

That makes 4 of you now. You, Junc, JetsJets, and Dr. Phin who seems to have a bias against Marshall.

ha ha...now you want a ref to call what he likely can't see...good luck with that

I saw it live and definitely saw the PI as Revis grabbed a huge chunk of marshals jersey. However at this point, who cares. It just got us closer to luck

No contact after 5 yards right? Looks to me that Revis is pulling the jersey of Marshall. Thanks for the picks new guy. Some people on here will argue the fact when then pictures are right in front of them.

Run your clip back a few frames and notice Marshall falling forward BEFORE he was touched. Look at the angle of Marshall's body and he falls forward trying to push Revis back. Look at your last frame, how and why are Marhsall's arms pointed straight to the ground and his hands are almost touching it.

Are you saying that little Revis with his awesome Kung Fu Grip grabbed a 240 pound Marshall and threw him down?

I'm 6'4", and i can tell you that the only way a smaller guy is going to reach over my head and grab me near the name BEHIND my head is if he is behind me or I'm falling past him.

If Marshall is even semi running upright, Revis could not have touched him on the back of his jersey.

it doesn't matter anyways...we were losing that game no matter what...just a matter of when the dagger would have gone in

Sorry i couldnt get the 1080p HD movie production version.....

I agree, he needs to throw it so it's uncatchable. I know Moore told everyone last week he wasn't a gunslinger but thats the type of plays he needs to avoid if he doesn't want that label.

I really wish we'd stop just forcing the ball the Marshall. We have other quality recievers. Hartline has looked good the last two years when he gets a chance and Bess is Mr. Reliable. Marshall isn't Fitzgerald,Calvin Johnson, or Andre Johnson where if you just throw it up to him than it'll either be a completion or an incomplete pass.

It was pretty clear that Matt Moore was told to throw it to Marshall, period.

This was barely a Dolphins vs Jets game, Marshall had turned it into the Marshall vs Revis game. As time went on B Marshall was more and more embarrassed. He was demanding that it was a Marshall vs Revis contest and wanted the ball more and more.

The sad thing was that our Coaching staff allowed Brandon Marshall to makes those calls. (Can you say Diva?)

unless i'm mistaken its not pass interference unless the ball has been released...if the qb is still in the pocket and still has the ball in his hands when the foul occurs that to my understanding is illegal contact...

That is a good point Hoops.

Another thing I can't understand. I thought the rule was this season that EVERY touchdown scored was reviewed in the booth.

Revis returning the TD 101 yard for a touchdown was..duh..a touchdown scored. Thus, it should have been automatically reviewed by the booth officials.

Yes, just like I had a bias when I said we would go 3-13....take the homer glasses off!

It is, that doesn't mean the ref has to go under the hood. They buzz down if the think it is close enough for the ref to take a look.

Lug, even if they review it (which they must), fouls are not part of the review. So, they could have said, "boy, that was blatent interferance...Weill, TD anyway...." Nothing the review could fix here.

pass interference or illegal contact is not reviewable...the only thing the booth could have reviewed on that play was did the ball break the goalline on the return in revis possession...which it obviously did...the only way the play woould be stopped before the extra point for a review is if the judge upstairs wanted to get another look at the play to verify the td was called correctly...in this case it was obvious it was so no need to hold up the game thus no play stoppage for review
