Pass Protect, Drops, and Tannehill

Agree here. That's one thing that has really surprised about Lazor so far. Especially coming from the Eagles last season where they were the most balanced offensive team in the NFL. Either Lazor is trying to aggressively get the passing game up to speed thru an ill-advised amount of game reps or... he just doesn't get it and this offense is also above his head. To early to judge on the later assumption, so I hope it's the first for the sake of our team. But still not an intelligent approach. Just because the league is pass-friendly, doesn't mean we should be pass-happy.
At this point I think Philbin is responsible for this pass happy mentality... With Sherman it was up for debate, but now, its pretty clear. philbin wants a pass first offense. Like you said, Lazor comes from the most balenced team in the league last year helping a grreen afterthought in foles to manage incredible stats, and then comes over here and decides the run is worthless so the hell with it lets go pass happy? I dont buy it...

I said it last year and will say it again now, Tannehill needs to get rid of the football,he is holding it took long and taking some sacks that are unnessesary and putting us in long down and distance situations. He also has to get more accurate as well.

I am NOT putting the complete blame on RT,but I know the game, and again,as I said last year,he holds it to long and HAS to get rid of the ball ! Throw it away for God's sake ! I dont want to hear it's the line either ! The line has some on them, but Tannehill has made some BAD plays and been sacked way to many times when he has had time to get rid of it and at least throw it away.

Still rooting for the kid,but as I said then as well,to make the next step up,he has to be smarter and get rid of the ball, these sacks are putting us in bad shape in down and distance. And I know I dont post alot,I have a life outside of message boards,so I dont want to hear the crap Im not a true Dolphin fan but a flamer,Ive been a Dolphin fan before most on here were probably even born,I just dont wear rose colored glasses.

While Im at it,Philbin has made some stupid mistakes as well, and I dont mean just the Tannehill thing,I mean in the strategy on the field at time ! I swear some things he does makes me say WTH was he thinking !!!

Once Moreno returns to the lineup, I'm expecting to see a more balanced offense. He SHOULD have used Miller more against KC, but I don't think he trusts him to carry the ball 20+ times. Moreno's injury was as significant as any our offense could have suffered. He was clearly the heart and soul of the offense in week 1, and without his presence and leadership, we look like we're going through the motions. Hoping Moreno is back after the bye. We NEED him. Also reflects poorly on Hickey. Should have brought a better 2nd RB option to the table - via draft, trade, or FA. RB's are very cheap these days, and they're vital to this offense (especially).

Miller is playing good football this season, when your back averages 7.2 yards a carry in a game, the lack of trust is not justified...

Yeah, I said he should have used him more, but I understand why he'd be hesitant to do it. Miller has never been a dependable player. When he's hot, I agree, ride that.
