Patriots, Jets still better than us.

And I never implied such...my statement was more to the point that we should've swept them last year...no hidden argument implied or intended, as a response to another post.

That was directed at the pats fan. I guess i need to start quoting the person

Mods may want to block or lock this before Monday morning otherwise this will turn volatile when a certain troll shows up.

what kind of logic is that? The dolphins kicked the pats ass on their last meeting. Exactly how are the pats a better football team?

see how stupid that sounds?

Well, the Bills swept us last season, but the Bills aren't a better football team.

The Patriots made it to the AFC Championship Game. They have won the division all but once in the past how many years?

They are the better team until Miami goes out and proves otherwise in the end of season standings.

New England I get until we dethrone them, but no way in hell are the f***ing Jets better than Miami.

And when they lose Brady, they'll still be stellar. Belicheat is too good. We'll probably see Grappaho's name for several years too...

get off the site dude! you really know how how to pump up a fan base going into the season. no spirit awards for you Debbie Downer.

Bull****. Belichick is nothing but a great defensive mind who happened to be there when they scored perhaps the luckiest draft pick in NFL history and rode the gravy train. Just wait till Brady is gone, he'll be back to his average self just like he was in Cleveland where mind you he had a pretty good QB and was nothing like he has been in NE.

There still exists the mentality here that the validity of someone's opinion is proportional to their number of posts. Perhaps turning off the post count for a month would prove a worthwhile experiment to see if the quality of forum discussion improves.

I think the OP made some valid points. While I believe Hickey and Philbin had a great offseason in terms of bringing in tougher, smarter football players (and coaches i.e. Lazor), they couldn't fix everything in one offseason. When the residual Jeff Ireland overrated acquisitions at LB and Mike Wallace are upgraded, this team will get there. Whether that makes them better or worse than their division rivals this year doesn't really interest me as much as the general question as to whether the Dolphins have the components in place to compete for the Superbowl. This year they obviously don't, but one more solid offseason will elevate them to contender status.

How can I take you serious with that name?

Based off his play tonight, our starting QB is no lock for any longevity either. It was his pick-6 that put Buffalo up in that 1st game vs them, and he stunk up the joint in week 16 and 17 last year and again tonight in what's supposed to the THE key preseason game.

He was known as a 'choker' in college and hasn't made that go away by a longshot.

Just saying, we're likely to be no better off at QB than NY or Buffalo, and the best Qabs in the division might be Brady and Matt Moore.

Miami is clearly the 2nd most talented team in the division. I think Rex is a better coach than Philbin but Miami is way more talented at every position aside from interior DL.

New England is my Super Bowl pick. Brady can make me a 1000 yard receiver, and there offense was on fire when they had Gronk healthy. More experience/continuity with the WR core will help there offense extremely. Brady is the #3 QB in the league, BB is the best coach in the league.

Brady, Gronk, Solder, Makins, Vollmer, Chandler Jones, Wilfork, Mayo, Jamie Collins, Revis, Browner, McCourty are all Pro Bowl caliber talents, and Riddley, Vereen, Edelman, Amendola, Ninkovich, Dominique Easley, Hightower are all quality starters.

So yes, New England is better than Miami. They've made 3 straight AFC championship games and had key contributors like Gronk, Wilfork, Mayo on IR.
