Pats sign Marcus Thigpen

wildcat was different no one ever saw that in the nfl. it only worked that one time though. That was a gimmick one shot offense

It only worked one time. Well, then another time. And it also single-handedly won games the year afterwards, when teams knew the Dolphins would run it all game, and since it was more than a one trick pony by providing multiple options in every snap it was very effective.

A team dedicated to running wildcat plays could still win in these days, its just that the read option and everything that can be run off it is even more dangerous because the guys running that bring the threat of chunk passing plays.

No but like everything else. Once you understand the concepts its pretty easy to figure out the rest. you guys make this out to be like rocket science. there is nothing out there that any of the coaches haven't seen before. that goes for all 32. it comes down to plain old simple execution
Yeah bro Philly has the Miami heat too.

Corresponding moves: #Patriots release RB Marcus Thigpen and DL Cameron Henderson from the practice squad.

No surprise there. Cut him as soon as he was eligible.

I'd entertain resigning Thiggy with all the injuries at RB. Also not sure we've upgraded at kick off and punt return with Landry.
Just a thought.

Landry has no business being out there on returns.

He has a bright future at WR but his slow 40 time has been documented and his chances of breaking a long one and out running everybody is probably not very good. The nice run in preseason was all on effect not so much as break away ability.

If you have better numbers, then please post them.

Keep in mind that most of the above players were also weighed at their NFL combines & pro days.

So if there's one player on that list with a suspect official NFL weight, it's Marcus Thigpen, who weighed 184 lbs at this pro day, and is now listed at 200 lbs.

Meanwhile, Marshawn Lynch (215 lbs) and Adrian Peterson (217 lbs) NFL combine weights match their current NFL official weights.

I couldn't believe how nuggety Thiggy was when I met him at the start of Training Camp. He definitely built up a lot. I believe the 200 lbs - I was very surprised how muscular he was in the upper body. Really nice guy too.
In hindsight, I don't think that we should have cut him. He had a bad game in the last preseason game but he was generally pretty safe.
