thats just how it goes. the team failed to identify talent on the roster at an early stage (of course - same old same old - see cam wake, rob nincovich et al) and they priced themselves out of the market.

guys CLEARLY soliai is worth the money THE DOLPHINS PAID IT didnt they??? cant blame either side AT THIS POINT in the negotiations. if u want to point fingers point fingers at this staff and front office for their mistakes with him starting 2 years ago and continuing through the point the decided to tag him.

why would soliai sign for $6 million guaranteed with this franchise when hes set to either get franchised again at $14 million or hit the market and get over $20 million guaranteed and even if he plays somewhat poorly hes still gonna get $12 million guaranteed or so and at least $24 millin on a 3 year deal?

The new regime may or may not use a 3-4. Better not to tie up 40+ million dollars on a nose tackle when we may not even need one next year.

well that depends on if we play a 3-4 or 4-3 and the value they assign the position. personally i believe soliai could play either position. hes athletic enough for the 4-3. maybe some other guys can shed some light on that. as for saying there arent team out there that would pay him? thats just inaccurate. the browns just did pay a player that hasnt performed as well as soliai has recently. and they paid him $18 million guaranteed and $9 million a year and that for THEIR OWN GUY. he didnt test the market. the numbers i listed were much lower than that for soliai. on the open market soliai certainly will earn that type of money, and he probably doesnt even have to perform as well as he did last year to earn it. just depends on team needs. but with 32 teams competing for his services trust me hell get his money

do the dolphins franchise him again? probably not. BUT its certainly not out of the realm of possibility and i wouldnt be so quick to dismiss it. we will get a 3rd pick based on his new contract in all likelihood tho the following year.

it seems the odds are soliai is playing his last year in miami, unless he becomes dominate in which case hell likely see another tag

well in fairness the things u mentioned arent really a NTs job in this scheme. his job is to force the offense to occupy him w 2 blockers. so 4 tackles isnt a bad number through 2 games, and it might even be a good number. i dont pay attention really to soliai while simply watching the game most of the time, and to be honest i havent felt like going back and taking a peek at his play. so i dont know if hes playing well or not. but the points you made dont actually indicate hes playing poorly

Take my word for it, he is not playing well and is certainly not stuffing holes and occupying 2 blockers. Did you notice how NE gashed us when they ran and Houstons backups gashed us pretty bad too, right up the middle.

Many here have the players they dislike for one reason or another. This is my player that just rubs me the wrong way. Our entire defense is one reason we are low in the power rankings along with our red zone inefficiency. I was against tagging this guy last year because I felt when he got a big payday he would just go thru the motions. Well,IMO, he is just going thru the motions out there.

Who is this agent ? I tried looking him up and found nothing on him, nada. Does he even represent anyone else ? This was a GREAT offer to a player that has done squat this year.
