Per Jackson- Marino interested in working for Dolphins and Steelers

Hey, if Dan wants to go to Pittsburgh...let him go and good riddance. Can't believe the Hall of Famer would ever put it out there that he would work for the ****in Steelers. Who knows, maybe he has some children running around there. Are you ****in kidding me Dan? ****. Go work the the Steelers...might be the best thing you can do for our franchise at this point.

Can someone please BOOKMARK this post as being the official "WORST FINHEAVEN POST" of the year?

Barry Jackson with an update on the Marino to Dolphins situation.

### We hear Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and Dan Marino met recently to discuss a potential job with the organization and those conversations will continue. Ross and Marino haven’t yet settled on what would be the best fit for him, but both parties want to make it work and he could end up involved in multiple aspects of the organization. A role on the football side is possible down the road, but probably not in the next few months.

I also saw this earlier today and thought maybe something is brewing. Possibly Marino looking for a new fins avatar?

Dan Marino ‏@DanMarino Apr 14

I think its time to change the Avatar…Any suggestions? Maybe we can make this a contest. #Autograph

Dan Marino ‏@DanMarino Apr 14

Lots of suggestions for the new Avatar. Going to have to delay this for a day or two. #DM13Avatar

Then Jackson reported the Ross/ Marino meeting. So maybe there is something to it. We shall see.

Sounds like he will be joining the team in some role, both sides seem destined to make it happen. It is interesting that it probably won't be a football side role, but my guess is that he would be eased in slowly to that side. It isn't good business to give Hickey the keys to the team and then turn around and strip him of some of that power for Marino. Start slow, let Marino get his feet wet and possibly a bigger role down the line.

My hope is that Marino becomes Ross' main advisor and voice for possible future decisions on the status of the head coach and GM. Hopefully we won't have to worry about more front office turnover for awhile, but if that day comes again, I would rather Marino in Ross' ear and not Carl Peterson anymore.

Main adviser? Id give him a job calling people to sell season tickets and let him work his way up.

All marino is right now is a face and frankly if his tv work is anything to go by I highly doubt he will ever be an elway style gm

He Was a hell of a qb but that doesnt mean he will be a good front office person. Across all sports some of the grestest players have made some of the worst coaches and executives.

Theres no way in hell I would be willing to give him a key role because he threw a ball well twenty years ago. If he earns a role then great, but talk to me about it in four years.

I had a dream Marino was warming up in a Dolphins uniform. He looked better than ever.He said even though im 50 i still want to be a quarterback..........Then i saw this thread........freaky

This, 100%. What's really sad about this is that Marino is the only person associated with this team that has any kind of credibility left and actually wants to be an active part of this team. Naturally, Ross wants nothing to do with that other than in a role that's all for show.

Yes, you ringed?
