Per Jackson- Marino looking for football related job with Dolphins

give him a job phoning to sell season tickets.

Don't be too quick to dismiss Zach Taylor as just someone who got the QB coaching gig because he is married to Mike Sherman's daughter. The feedback is that he is good at developing Tannehill, who clearly improved in year 2 even with the O-line disaster. We will know pretty soon if Lazor thinks he has something or not. Taylor apparently seriously aspires to be a Head Coach in the NFL (and we laughed when we heard Jason Garrett had the same goal when he was QB Coach years ago).
While Dan Marino looks at John Elway and sees the immediate success he has had in fixing many problems in Denver, it doesn't mean that Dan would be a similar success here in Miami. Rarely does talent on the field translate to success as a GM in any sport.

Jason Garrett is probably not the best example. Yes, he is an NFL head coach, but definitely not that great of one. There are many other NFL and college coaches that if I was running a franchise I would want as my teams head coach.

I actually think Taylor and Sherman were holding Tannehill back and that Tannehill had a better season in spite of them. Hell, there were reports that Tannehill as well as others had become frustrated with the offensive game plan by the end of last season. The timing of the passing offense was not good last year. Nothing really seemed to mesh. Plus none of the players, ie Wallace, were put into positions where they could succeed by taking advantage of mismatches. (Why the hell else would Tannehill be texting Wallace about how much better this offense is this offseason?) A good QB coach recognizes this and helps change it. No matter who the OC is. I really think the jump people are expecting Tannehill to make this season will have much more to do with Lazor, his scheme and an improved offensive line, which will allow Tannehill's talent to show, more than anything Taylor will provide.

see, this is why I question Steve Ross' judgement.. why the foot-drag bringing 13 back to the fold? he quik hires out-of-townies, but homeboys get no love?? typical

I wouldn't be opposed to him being QB coach but i don't think he would make a good coach he would be like dammit why can't you do what i can do. The greats never make good coaches because they can't understand someone with more limitations then they have or had

IMO Marino would bring alot to the Team whatever role he gets , Look at Elway , i think he is doing a pretty good job , and IMO Marino can do as good as job as Elway can ,IF NOT BETTER!!!!!!!!!! Marino would be a GREAT Addition to the Dolphins Staff or where ever they can use him .Marino is just as smart as Elway , and this time around i think Marino would take advantage of whatever Role he is giving , and would do it with success..

Could Dan's football decisions be any worse than what has happened over the last 10 to 12 years?

How do you know Marino is just as smart as Elway? Elway scored a 29 on his Wonderlich, Marino a 15. One point higher than Vince Young scored. Look, I'm as big a Marino fan as you'll find, but Elway has done a great job and it took him awhile. Is Marino as committed?

IMO Wonderlich dosent mean SQUAT , compare Johns Teams what he had to work with , then Dans team , and still Danny Boy with all those records he held forever , what Marino did with less shows that the wonderlich is squat , as far as Marino gose anyways , and i dont think Dan would want a job with Miami if he wasnt going to be Commited , thats why he got out quick the first time because he didnt think he was ready to be Commited , and i just dont think he would make it sound like he just wants a job if he wasnt ready this time ..

I thought he already had a job with the team.. Him and I last year

I know some really want Marino to work for the organization, but I just don't care if he does....I want the best people at their jobs to work for the Phins....Marino was a great QB, but will he be a great executive? Does he really want the job or is he only interested because he is no longer on TV? Lets not act like he is choosing to pursue this because of a strong desire to be apart of the organization....he's doing so because he lost his other job....one he chose over working for the Phins in the past, who's to say that if another TV gig comes along he won't leave for that...
