Perkins - Dolphins have bigger problems than Tannehill

I'm not sure I totally agree with blaming the defense here. Sure, they could be better. But, what do you think is going to happen when the Offense is consistently going 3 and out? Hell they gave you how many fumbles? How man safety? How many sacks? What you want them to score all the TD's too?

Lets be fair here...

TOTALLY AGREE

The only points the offense manufactured by themselves was a FG drive before halftime. Offense scored 3 Defense scored 2 on safety
Defense caused fumble that led to short field and easy TD, Special teams returned kick into FG range and offense did nothing but settle.

How anyone can blame the defense when the offense comes up with one drive in a game is beyond me.

my only point is the author said the d needs to carry this team...and i'm saying fat freaking chance with this lb core...you'll hold your nose more than they will carry you

He is a lot higher than #5, the score was 21-15 going into the 4th don't forget with the D accounting for 9 of those points....My top 5 problems are 1. RT, 2. tackling, 3. special team coverage unit 4. coaching 5. WR

Shouldnt #1 & #5 go togather?

Ok but didn't we expect poor LB play when we lost 2 starters and poor safety play when we moved out Nickel back to safety. Didn't we expect good QB play this season and more than 10-15 points a game and 5.0 YPA? I know the defense fell apart vs KC and exploited our weaknesses very well with there backs and TE's (which in skied in the Final score thread predicting a 34-10 KC win) but weren't we supposed to shred KC's poor secondary to make up for it? I thought the finheaven gurus saw matchup problems for the Chiefs? How about the fact they Alex Smith was under just as much if not more pressure than Tannehill and threw 3 TD passes anyway. I bet there are jamockes on here who would take Tanny over Smith. HAHA!

Bottom line QB us letting us down the most. He's expected to play well. I'm not gonna blame our obvious weaknesses for losing games in which we scored 15 points where 12 was a product of defense and ST. Tannehill led a freaking Field goal drive Sunday, that's it!

if you want to talk about the offense i wasn't addressing that...and i'm not making excuses for it...i'm just saying this d wont carry you anywhere with that lb core...the pass rush either gets home or you won't get off the field...plain and simple

there was matchup problems for the chiefs imo but it was more their oline and our front pass rush...and it showed that way...what was unexpected for me at least was to see our bookend tackles have so many quick loss pressures given the showing the first 2 weeks...tannehill was having to step up inside all over the place against wide pressures

and someone told this defense that you can tackle kniles damn davis like he's a scat back...and they learned that lesson all game long

A few things to consider, and "sometimes" the stats do not lie.

The OL has given us 18 total pressures the last two games. Last year, we averaged 14 with our horrible OL. Past 2 games, we had 7 batted passes, last year we had 8 all year. Past 2 games, we had 8 drops. last year we had 33 all year.

Many things are wrong here, and they are not all on RT, although he does deserve his fair share.

Almost everyone her loved the signings of Lazor and Benton. They were going to be the answers but, to date, they have not been any better than last year. Do they deserve some time to right this sinking ship or, has tis ship already said after 3 games?

i'd be concerned about right guard more than anything else on that oline...james technique and hand placement is sound enough where while he will have games like the other day i trust him to right the ship more often than not...the right guard though...ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh...dallas thomas was making alvin bailey look like an all pro...thomas didnt get to things in space at anywhere near the level shelley smith did either but smith oversets something fierce in pass pro...still thomas shows poor awareness also

right guard is a major weakness right now...

Is that what you got out of the article?

No I didn't read it. I didn't need to. We have many on this board who have expressed a similar opinion I am sure. I was only asking to make sure I can understand why so many people have an issue with others criticizing his play.

You have the worst reading comprehension I've witnessed to date.

Miller was having a nice game against the Chiefs! It was too bad they stopped running so soon!

But to me pass protection and dropped balls are the biggest issues at the moment.

That's crazy because I didn't even read it. As opposed to being insulted by someone behind a keyboard I guess I'll just agree with you. He is the best.

James had a rookie game, which was expected and there may be more but, he has show more than enough to be the answer at RT. Samson has been up and down but, Pouncey fixes that. Albert has been VG, and College has been average, as expected, and fine in doing so. RG is a mess, and don't know how it will be fixed this year.

Shelly has been so-so at best, Dallas has been bad, don't think Turner is ready, and moving a center is questionable. Not sure which I prefer.

Haha, you said zero chance! Don't you know who we are? We keep all the scrubs andet all the talent go. Ie. Reggie bush

There's an adjustment I can agree with. It was a tragic error, and unfair to Ryan Tannehill. He needs all the cheap first downs and points he can get. Somehow we brainstormed to give it away.

I attended the home Buffalo game, the second to last week of 2012. Reggie Bush was easily the best player on the field that day. He was creating problems and forcing the Bills defense to scramble several guys everywhere he went. The Buffalo bench was desperately pointing fingers before the snap, directing the players on how to deal with our looks. Bush scored three touchdowns that day, if I remember correctly.

In three subsequent meetings with Buffalo I'm not sure we've scored three touchdowns combined.

I remember sitting in the stands that day and looking into the sky. All the housewives sitting next to me were thrilled with Reggie and chanting his name. Same with their kids. But it was already obvious that we might be stupid enough to let him depart. After all, those dance steps. They cost 4 yards per run. Remember that. The adjusters couldn't stop claiming that Reggie was robbing us of yards, points and wins. I guess their alternative was Lamar Miller, who many of us had watched at Killian and with the Canes for years. He's the same as ever.

BTW, there's one guy in the NFL who currently is hesitating and dancing like Reggie. He pauses after the handoff before evaluating the evolving play and taking off. I don't hear too many complaints about Le'Veon Bell, who has lost weight and made one of the most remarkable transformations I've ever seen in 45+ seasons following this sport.

We have sucked for so long, we need lists, a protractor and a Venn Diagram to explain it.

And just when you think you've heard every reason why we don't deserve to win, we create new ones.

i think you can get by with shelley as long as he's not across from a stud...well i hope you can at least...dallas thomas looks awful to me...the way i see it the sooner billy turner is ready the better...satele out there at guard would have serious strength issues etc so that would be a stop gap and soon show ugly option also

Quit being dumb and making stupid comments on something you didnt read and these things wouldnt happen.

EDIT: And you arent agreeing with me, I never said he was the best. You said that.
