Ummm, did you see who the Atlanta Falcons just hired as OC? Dirk Koetter. I guess someone though highly of him...

last nights game was the deciding factor for you? broncos offense was horrible and they didnt do anything against a horrible defense

Oh boy...I will explain this again...first, using the last game or one game to decide if a guy can coach is stupid and lazy. Secondly, I see a Broncos team with very limited talent compared to other coordinators that we are talking about. That McCoy could construct an offense around that talent in midstream and win games impresses me.

but you said last nights game is what convinced you he was the best candidate! Jus t because he can come up with a gimmick (which was fox idea to start doing not mccoys) doesnt mean he knows how to be a HC.. if so lets get david lee... he did the same thing with the wildcat for miami. Once people figure that out, he willl have to go back to a traditional offense and be screwed cuz his success at that isnt impressive at all

id much rather have a HC that can develop a QB rather than mask him with a gimmick that is going to only work for a half a season before its not gonna work. Tebow has shown NO signs of any development at all.

He is not going to bring the option to Miami. He made a ****ing adjustment for his bad QB. I think he would be a good leader, put in an attacking offense and develop your young QB. Plus he is 39 and might be here awhile...He has not been my first choice from the start. That was Billick. I like Zimmer ahead of him too. However, McCoy does interest me a lot.

You watch him blow away the interview. He speaks very well and is highly educated.

Yea, he was kinda dealt a bad hand with a QB that can't throw...

I'd prefer a OC as our coach...That way we can kill two birds with one stone and focus on getting a DC only as the head coach can call the plays...

Hopefully, whoever we bring in will bring in a special teams coach that realizes the return game matters.
 
I bet people will start to love him when they hear him talk football.

well he was dealt kyle orton who proved he could throw when mcdaniels coached him, but suddenly when mccoy had to coach him without mcdaniels, he stunk.. hhmmmmmm
 
You can't be serious with Denver's OC as a legit candidate. Maybe if Tebow develops into a pocket passer down the road you can say this guy has it but now??? That is like saying David Lee should have been a HC after bringing in the wildcat. Big deal - something new works for a little bit. Do you really think with the spped of the NFL that the option will work long term? Elway is not an idiot - he rode it out and it was a good ride. But he knows you need to throw from the pocket. McCoy has not developed his QB. His offense is not going to scare anyone. Why would you want him as your HC?

Zimmer and Carmichael as well as Philbin have resume's that are so much above his. It seems clear you have 3 top contenders and they should be doing a 2nd rd and picking the guy who blows them away with a solid plan. Remember it's not just the HC but the assistants they will bring.
 
McCoy was in Carolina with Fox as well as QB coach and Offensive Assistant. They had some very, what was the word you used....ATTACKING offenses. LOL.

Carolina won with Defense and ran the ball more than anyone. How did Denver win? With Defense and running the ball. See a trend.

That is not an ATTACKING offense!
 
he just seems like a X's and O's type guy. we need a strong personality as the HC.

but we'll see what ross/peterson/ireland think. im sure they will find the right kind of guy.
