I didn't realize the NFL gave out 4th place medals. You do mental gymnastics to move the goal posts of an argument just so you always win, and frankly it's very tiring. You lack logic in almost every single thought you spew out, you simply exist to give the Jets every benefit of the doubt as well as receive a double standard in the face of others.
Just to review what i've learned from you before -
- The Jets being in 4th-6th place in the NFL, twice in the past 5 years, is almost as impressive as the Giants winning the superbowl twice in 5 years
- The Dolphins being below the Jets is a vast ocean and the Jets are simply biding their time.
Here are some simple, cold hard facts from a non biased party (I simply can't help but be logical with my review of football, it's in my nature). New York has required the services of two VERY unlikely situations to get to the AFC Championship game. Two. They've used up their luck. And for what? So you can pretend like it means a goddamn thing.
You're not the Patriots. The Patriots, year in and year out, are favorites and simply dominate. They almost make the superbowl almost every time and when they don't, it's considered an upset. The Jets, however, are on their way to nothing. They've realized that with their current starting QB, they simply need an amazing defense, a super strong running game, and a whole lot of bounces, including some of the worst game day decisions by a head coach (Caldwell) ever seen to reach the fight for 3rd place. Fantastic.
You seem to think the Jets are just ONE year away... that the pieces are there, but it hasn't come together. Let me spoil it for you. It isn't. And it won't. You have a head coach who, yes, is a fantastic game day coach and simply out coached the Patriots in 2009. But you've got a head coach who can't keep his locker room under control, you've got a quarterback who simply has 10% of the locker room believing in him. You've got a star WR who simply hates being there and makes it known, you've got a backup QB who is a celebrity superstar and placing pressure on your starting QB, pressure that he has shown he is unable to deal with.
You've got aging linebackers, some questionable draft picks, and an all pro superstar at CB. You've got question marks at safety, you've got a tremendous O Line with a ****ty running back who really struggles to break 4.2 yard per carry behind that awesome line. You've got an offensive coordinator who repeatedly proved to be extra conservative and stuck in a state of mind that plays an era of football that is simply non-existent anymore.
Miami has a ton of question marks but a lot of moves that, some on their face, appear negative. They've got a quarterback battle between two stop gaps, they've got a star runningback who is likely to revert back to his injury riddled ways, they've got a star receiver who now plays in Chicago because he simply couldn't stop being an ******* to teammates, and they've got draft picks that are the true definition of boom or bust. They've got an owner who has made an ass of himself on multiple occasions, and they've got a 1st time head coach.
Will they be as good as the Jets are? Who knows. They may. Do they have the potential to be much worse? Yup, they sure do. Is the potential there to be better? You better believe it.
So you tell me, Mr Argue absolutely everything then blindly pretend like you don't contradict yourself in almost every other post, what is better? To currently max out at "just not good enough"? Or to have the ability to shoot for the stars with the possibility to land in the mud?
You mockingly say "almost exactly the same" but you know what? I sure as hell wouldn't want to have to sit there and find ways to make coming in 4th place through multiple lucky bounces sound like it is something to be jealous off year after year, knowing my team won't make it. I'd rather deal with people like you making fun of a team that goes 6-10 one season and completely cleans house, and switches philosophies, using the gameplan of a man who has tasted superbowl victory before. I'd rather have that. SO NO, Miami and New York ARE NOT the same... Miami's future has the potential to be so much brighter.
