Pete Prisco: 7-9 for Dolphins

our run game wasn't much better in 2010, our Ol was mediocre/bad last year. barring injury I don't think we'll see that again.

The D wasn't great last year but on paper it's much improved and much hungrier. last year rex handed over playcalling duties, this year he is taking them back. That alone will make us better along w/ the much improved DL, a slimmed down Bart Scott, the return of Bryan Thomas, upgrade at safety. I think this will be our best D since 2009.

Sanchez's true colors were shown in postseason '09 & '10. Last year the OL stunk, he had no deep threat, no run game for half the year, played hurt,... I am 100% confident Sanchez will have a bounce back year. he has more talent to work with this year and the OL should be better. Like most of the young, returning QBs last year he had a down year.

A rookie can't be considered an upgrade yet, Bart Scott isn't an upgrade over himself, Bryan Thomas doesn't scare anybody except Marc Colombo, Laron Landry is made of glass and he can't cover, and Yeremiah is old as **** and can't cover. Not to mention the fact that Revis (the one and only great player on the Jets) could hold out and be another week 2 hamstring tear again.
The Jets didn't upgrade the defense. Next.

the return of bryan thomas??? ha ha...who cares...the jets safeties are gonna be exploited in coverage...physical as all get out which means have your head on a swivel when you cross their territory but there's definitely weaknesses in coverage with that current group...

coaches decision count as losing sanchez? if you guys dont start out strong offensively out of the gate... jesus will be starting before you know it....and good luck when that happens

yeah, as we know most coaches want the guy they expect to eventually start playing on STs and bulking up to 250 lbs. have the phins asked Tannehill to do that yet?

I will not get sucked into this. I will not get sucked into this. I will not get sucked into this.

a slimmed down, motivated Scott is bettre than the overweight going through the motions version last year

Bryan Thomas is excellent in the run game, teams ran on us for the first time last year.

If Laron is healthy(a big if) then we got a steal

Yeremiah would still be starting in Miami

I'm assuming revis doesn't hold out, on paper this D is much better going into '12 than they were going into '11

BT is a very underarted guy, not a star or anything but he meant a lot to that D and they lost a lot when he was hurt.

The safeties are a liability in coverage but a hopefully improved pass rush and quicker LBs(slimmed down plus the addition of davis) should be able to help. Every D has a weakness, coverage of our Safeties is ours

who's playing free safety for the jets anyways??? tell me its not laron landry...ask washington fans about him at free...and y bell he definitely can't man it either...you got 2 strong safeties if you guys don't get quick and i mean quick pressure teams are gonna eat up your safeties in coverage...

jim leonhard was underrated as a coverage player and ground coverer...to me you downgraded coverage wise at the position...

revis could hold out though all camp and come in week 1 and never miss a beat...guys just rediculously good...jets have to pay him...last time he held out he came back that first game and locked down half the field...

If you want to make sarcastic japes and avoid the logical thought that they didn't bring in tebow just to be some sideshow circus act, then you truly are hopeless. Don't get me wrong, if Sanchez somehow turns his (individual) career around and plays well, then hell they can bide their time with Tebow and let him do whatever the hell they want. But if you guys don't start out strong, and its because of Sanchez, you are a fool to think that Tebows "share" of the starters reps wont balloon. It's in Rex's best interest to say whatever is politically correct to help sanchez's psyche to reassure him its his job and blah blah blah... but wake up man... its going to get ugly really quickly if things start to go south.

Its the nature of the game... especially in New York... and especially with Tebow

Eric Smith is going to play, leonhard very well could be back, we drafted a couple of safeties as well. We'll see how that shakes out but against the run we should be really good forcing teams into passing situations and being able to show many different looks as we won't have to blitz as much(we shouldn't).

actually the last time he held out he tweaked his hammy and wasn't himself for about half the year, let's hope that doesn't happen again.

the problem with the jets in the past is they haven't been able to get quick pressure without blitzing...i don't see where that has been fixed as far as a real edge rush presence...and with those safeties you guys plan on rolling with if a qb has time you guys are gonna get owned down the field...whole gameplans will be about getting to your safeties in coverage...won't even look revis way...just find the safety matchup down the field and ATTACK

1. Neither you or me have any idea whether or not Bart Scott will be any more motivated than he was last year. Even if he is a little more motivated he's still another year older and won't be MUCH better than last year best case scenario.

2. The fact that Miami let Yeremiah go to a division rival is really telling of how useless he has become because, as you said, we are brutal at safety.

You are right, they brought him in to be a sideshow. They were jealous of the attention the Giants got for winnign the SB and thought acquring Tim tebow would make people forget they sucked to end 2011 while their Stadium mates won the SB.

rex can say what he wants, it's the actions that concern me and having tebow as the upman on punts and asking him to bulk up to 250 lbs tells me all I need to know about their plans for Tim tebow.

eric smith is serviceable...not an eye sore i'd say...landry especially in vertical coverage...eye sore
