Pete Prisco right on something...

prickso is right on this one. imo we'll never see the final four until we get a real qb. w/o a franchise qb, it will be more of the same: they'll tease us with 9-10 wins, then get beat by a team with a real qb in the playoffs. same shiznit, different year.

Which is the point, you guys don't know if we have a real QB yet. Last year didn't give us much opportunity to see what our QB's could do. It not like our QB's last sat back in the pocket and threw int's..they were rush into them. It's early in AJ's onfield play and I say the kid has something. I will say this again, if D. Mario in his first of starting was behind last year's OL and running game, you'd be calling for his head too.

Makes sense..But No, I don't expect AJ to be better than Jay. I think AJ is just our new version of Jay 2.0....Not better..Not worse. We just picked up a "new"
Jay Fiedler.:ears:

Unfortunately, I think you're right.

I'm not saying the Phins need a pro bowl QB, but they need someone who is more than a care-taker, to which I don't know if Aj can be.

AJ has never been given a fair chance anywhere, so no one knows what he can do, AJ has been thrown into the fire on more then one occasion and when it happend with a team that was balanced (Eagles) he had a 5-1 record. When it happend with the fins the results weren't the same. I think it's clear AJ is not a savor, but given a good team he can play up to his potential. That potential would be a good solid QB. Not a Marino or a Favre, but a QB that could win a SB. He's IMO better then Dilfer and just as good as J.Delhome. Both QB's made and or won a SB.

To all those fin fans and non fin fans that don't think AJ has ability to be a leader and win a lot of games please tell me when and how he's been given a fair chance to prove himself one way or the other!! You can't because it hasn't happend yet. If AJ gets through camp and starts for the fins this year from the point he takes the field from the first Pre-season game till week sixteen will be the point you mesure his ability's. Why??? Becuse unlike Philly where he was behind McNabb and Miami where DW always loved JF,AJ had to be behind another coaches favorite. Well I'll promise you one thing, Saban won't play that game. He will play the guy that shows he has the most to offer this team and nothing else.

If AJ is to ever prove himself now is the time he will either succeed or fail on his own abilitys and not because the coach is bias. We will know very soon if AJ will be the QB of the future of this team. I think Saban thinks AJ has the tools otherwise he would have put more effort into replacing him this off season. The people that think AJ doesn't have what it takes are either bias for whatever reason or haters because AJ has only been here for one year and it was the worst season in 3 decades...not all because of AJ. I say wait and see what happens before you shoot your mouth off about AJ's ability becuase it really makes fans look less then knowledgable.

The Chargers went into last year with a "bust" at QB in Drew Brees, and a rookie. They made the playoffs just fine, if I recall.

The point is that we have an unknown with AJ... not that we have a mediocre QB. It's very possible that he's a mediocre QB... but there is an equal likelyhood that he will excel with a proper offensive scheme.

It should be a great season... one in which we find out quite a bit about how the next few years will play out.

we would have already known that dan marino could play b/c of what he did at pitt. what do we know about aj feeley? all i've ever seen him do is hold clipboards for joey harrington and mcnizzle. imo, he's a caretaker at best, and a caretaker is not going to take us to the next level. maybe he'll blossom into a real qb, but i'm not seeing it.

Well believe it or not we may have improved our QB situation this year with the acquisition of Scott Linehan. There is no doubt in my mind that we will improve on offense than this compared ot last season, how could we not? I agree with Prisco believe it or not... there are exceptions, but it's really hard to win without a good quarterback. Whether it's Gus or AJ, no matter who our starter is... hopefully they'll be able to produce enough in this offense to go along with an overall good team effort and GREAT coaching if we're going to win games.
