Peter King just said on NBC that close family friend Gil Brandt believes that we may have seen the last of Peyton Manning in a football uniform.

I really believe this to be the case. If 5 months after the surgery, he still can't be cleared, he will consider his health and family first and foremost. He will retire.
 
I think Peyton should do everyone a favor and retire.
Nobody wants to see his detached head rolling around the field.
 
Also, Dungy just said if he isn't playing for the Colts it is most likely the end of his career.

Did he steal your girlfriend or something? When healthy, he's pretty far from being a bum. If these reports by "close family friends" are false and he is able to play, who is available that is better (and as proven) in your opinion?
 
If he retires, its basically Flynn or RG3. And I am willing to put money on that bet.
 
manning retires then its flynn or Tannehill and Thill might be able to be had at 40/41
 
He is just stating the obvious. Anyone that follows football could figure this out.
It was reality 2-3 months ago.
Brandt must have had a moment of clarity.
 
I can't see why we would want Manning here. He's a 2 year player at most. And with his neck issues I just wouldn't want him. We need to build with a young guy who will be here for the next 12 years or so.
