Good read on Peter King's Monday Quarterback column, as always..

Check out what he had to say about Frerotte:

Or just read it below, where I pasted it:

7. I think most of us owe Gus Frerotte a big apology. We've all pretty much thought of him as a hanger-on without any real upside to help a team except if the starter (and maybe the second-stringer) got hurt. Well, watching a good chunk of Miami's dismantling of Denver, I came to realize that what is good about Frerotte is what's so good about the NFL: Guys who are given up for done don't have to believe they're really done. They can fight their way out of it and still be good if they believe in themselves.

I've never weighed in on Gus. I've never started a thread and rarely comment on stuff (just read), but I thought this would be a good start.

I know a lot of us will jump on the Gus bandwagon now. The guy is a gamer. He's tough, he doesn't lose, he has a big arm and he's an unquestioned leader in the huddle (read that in a Herald article. I believe Randy McMichael commented on Gus being unrivaled in the huddle).

I'm sure that he'll drive us nuts at times, but Gus is the perfect bridge between this team, which can be a playoff team if it keep playing the way it is capable of, and your QB of the future (who I'm sure we'll draft next year). He's a veteran with unquestioned knowledge of the offense, how to play and how to lead. You'll never see that out of A.J., Sage, Brock, Rohan Davey, Tim Couch or whoever else some fans want in here.

I'm a Gus fan. We'll go as far as he takes us. I'm on for the ride.

He ain't the guy in your signiture, but I think he'll do just fine :)

I agree he is the bridge, but I want this bridge to be a scenic view and a nice smooth ride, and no toll! Maybe - and it's a rather large maybe - he can become the next Rich Gannon? Similar histories too. It may be the best-case scenario, but it's a scenario I'm hoping for. Would make a very nice bridge to cross!

Yesterday I became a Guskateer. Get on the Gus Bus y'all !!!!! The guy doesn't get "happy feet" out there...he stays calm, he doesn't try to force it or do too much....when he did not have a receiver he smartly took a sack and then killed them on the next pass. :) I liked his poise. I liked how he flipped the ball to Ronnie Brown on the big 3rd down and 2 play, and RB made a very nice one handed catch. He also toasted the Denver d-backs (even though Champ and a few others were hurt). Keep it up Gus.

I want to see three or four games in a row before I call myself any kind of "guskateer" or whatever. His biggest problem has always been following up a fantastic performance with another one. He'll look awesome, then look crappy for 2 or 3 games in a row.

same here. I need to see more of him b4 i get warm and fuzzy. Had a good game though!

While I was pleasantly surprised with Gus' performance and, for the most part, his command of the offense, I think we need to remain realitstic here.. Not to downplay his performance, but most of his yardage came when both Denver starting CBs were out of the game..

I hope he can continue with these performances, but until I see it consistently for 5 games or so, I dont think we can call this the resurrection of Gus Frerotte.

No actually we didn't really rack up much yardage against Foxworth and Williams. Lots came on that play were Walls was taken advantage of. That guy is in terrible shape...

Miami was driving down the field against Denver even before Bailey was injured. I'm tired of this "Bailey got injured stuff" it just didn't reflect that becuase they couldn't finish the drives in the first half, and had two field goals instead, even though being inside the 20.

yeah, what he said.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, if Minnesota would have let Gus continue some they would have mede it tothe playoffs ... Culpepper was too selfish...Gus just wants to find an open guy and get him the ball.

no, i'm not saying gus is better overall than culpepper, just think culpepper needed to rethink his strategy and be willing to share the glory
