Peter King on Gus

Miami was driving down the field against Denver even before Bailey was injured. I'm tired of this "Bailey got injured stuff" it just didn't reflect that becuase they couldn't finish the drives in the first half, and had two field goals instead, even though being inside the 20.

The score was 6-3 until Champ and Co went down.. Yes, they were moving the ball somewhat, but the O was still struggling in that they couldnt punch it in.. Many factors for that, including Gus who overthrew Chambers on consecutive plays which could have been TDs..

Regardless, like CK said, Frerotte has a history of doing this, he is good for a couple of games, but eventually goes back to his struggling ways.. I hope he finally found a system that suits him, but I wouldnt be surprised to see his incosistencies arise once more

The point of an offense is to score points. They werent doing that for the first half. I think the Offense took off in the 2nd half for 3 reasons:

-Halftime Adjustments
-Bailey going down
Defensive exhaustion.

obviously, but it's not like the offnense went three and out alot, or punt. Miami not getting a TD inside the redzone has much more to do with the team not finishing the drive than Bailey stopping them. We drove through them all game, we just finally got TDs. Miam was bound to get in the redzone again , and score, even if Bailey wasn't hurt, becuase like I said before. Miami was inside the 20 twice before, and it sure looked like it was going to continue in that way.

At one point he was 9/12 against chump and co., there are no excuses to why gus played a good game, he just did. Some of it was because of the injuries but he wouldve been fine w/o them.

Yeah, my point exactly

If Gus continues to be just efficient enough through the Buffalo game, then I will publicly apologize to him. I am just not ready to do it after just one game.

Those were alot of dinks and dunks that alot of you villified Feeley for doing in preseason, but it worked and moved the chains.. I applaud Frerotte for taking what the D was giving him.. I think he played a wonderful game, save for the bonheaded toss to Ronnie's feet that could have been disastrous..

But Id like to see how he does on a consistant basis playing against starters for 4 quarters before I annoint him comeback player of the year.
