If Manning's recovery was looking good, wouldn't Irsay be talking about trading the pick instead of "finding a franchise QB"?
I don't know guys.. it's too risky, I mean one blind side hit and he is done.
Why would he when he can save millions by releasing him and drafting the best QB prospect in years for a hell of a lot cheaper with a lot more years left on him. The colts and the Dolphins are in completely different situations. If Manning's recovery was looking good, wouldn't Irsay be talking about trading the pick instead of "finding a franchise QB"?
"should be" ready. Thats the problem. What if he's not? Free agency is done. The draft is done. So do you gamble that Manning "should" be ready or do you go in a different direction? If its a healthy Peyton Manning its an easy decision. He's not, and may never be again. What do you do?Mort said yesterday on NFL 32 that Manning should be back around 100% in late May.
Fortune smiles on the bold! IMO you gamble on the chance Peyton is able to play at a high level this upcoming season! Git R dun Ireland.

I've been consistantly of the mind that Peyton will be playing in 2012.. Reading this gives me a good laugh, after reading 2 days of "Peytons done, moving on" threads.
