Alright let shed some logic on this Manning sign/don't sign debate. If you presume you are going to sign Manning as your QB you must first coincide several things:
1) Flynn will not be available as a backup plan
2) Manning is healthy enough to play this season!
3) You are not trading up in the draft in order to have a shot a RGIII
Why would you coincide points 1 and 3 based off a 50/50 shot at best that number 2 is a true statement. You can not and are foolish to handcuff the most important position on the team to a 50/50 chance of a player regaining prominence, I don't care if that player is Peyton Manning. Manning's best play would be to file this season for retirement and focus on getting healthy, not only for his career but for his quality of life beyond 40 years old.
He isn't going to play football opening day in the NFL in 2012. He also shouldn't be worried about if he will play at all in 2012, what Peyton needs to worry about is the quality of his life for the rest of his life.
It is what it is and it's the only play here.
