Marino has him by 3 TD's, not to mention he did make it to the Super Bowl that season. Dan Marino had the single greatest season a QB could ask for short of winning it all...period.

HUH? 49 TD's beats 48....playoffs stats dont count.

Unfortunetly, most records do not include post-season statistics. Or else, yes, you'd be correct.

Dan is still the man irregardless of what records he has had broken.

nice research and time, but regular season.

I always felt they should put an asterisk next to any passing record that is set after the new rules on cornerback/reciever contact were made. Its no coincedence the passing numbers skyrocketed and Peyton broke the record the first year the rule was enforced.

In your book? I would think playoff stats would be as/more important as regular season.

Marino's stats count...but what he did in the playoffs go into his playoff stats...Manning still has the most TD's in a regular season with 49. I still think Dan is the greatest QB ever...I just hope Favre doesnt pass Marino in all time TD's with 420.

In your mind, what is more important? Regular season stats or complete season stats? I think regular season/postseason stats combined tells the truth. No matter what anyone says, Dan Marino threw more touchdowns in one season then Peyton Manning did...by 3.

Obviously theres no way I can be sure, but all signs point towards Favre's retirement after this season. He wants no part of a rebuilding team and its clear the Packers are going to require alot of rebuilding in the next couple years. The record is safe for now.

He'd have to have two more successful seasons. So far this year, he has done squat. All signs point to him retiring after this season barring some major turn of events.

Many have said, but noone has answered. Who says postseason stats do not count?
