PFF Grades on 3rd preseason game

LOL...did that all by himself he did. All the way to the AFCC game. He was good, but wasn't near his top form, and not top 5 either. It's not homerism, it's fact. Look up his numbers:

- Not top 15 overall in QB rating.
- Not top 5 overall in yards.
- Not top 5 overall on PFF.
- Not top 20 overall in YPA.
- Not top 20 in completion %.

But you keep on swingin' from his sack. His best years are past and he will be declining soon. He "was" great, yes, but last year he wasn't. And save the tired old BS argument "didn't have any receivers," not many teams have a crutch like Gronk for even a few games a year, and his best buddy BB brought in those receivers, so unless you're going to say BB's an idiot, they had good enough talent on that offense. Everybody has injuries...it's no excuse.

New England did goto a power scheme in the 2nd half of the season. It was out of necessity, lack of targets and attrition on the o line being factors.

You can use stats or analytics all you want. But the eye in the sky never lies...

How was he top 5 last year then? His team went to the championship game, yes...is that all you got?

Edit: That team is still beast, and will probably go 13-3 this year, and went what, 12-4 last year? They're a powerhouse, no doubt, but your claim was that Brady himself was top 5...and it's a false claim, like it or not.

Yep and they kept on tickin'...crazy how good that team is. Crazier still how well we played against 'em.

Good and luck. They get more calls than any other team in the league. Especially at crucial times. The Browns and NYJ games come to mind. But Brady did have a sub par year last year, by his own standards.

Ya and I seem to recall a particular stretch of horrendous calls when a certain Florida team was playing in Foxborough.

Gotta love individual grades in the ultimate team sport.

The average # of pass interference calls an NFL team benefited from in 2013 was 7.7.

The Patriots had like 15. Their wide receivers are JUST THAT GOOD.

He was without his top 5 leading receivers the year before. They lost the best TE in the league Gronk to IR, the best RT in the league Sebastian Vollmer to IR. Vince Wilfork, and Tommy Kelly went on IR. They made it to the AFC Championship game with 2 undrafted rookies starting at defensive tackle. Jerod Mayo went out on IR. To be able to overcome all that and lead your team to the AFC Championship game was nothing short of great.

Mike Pettine has gone against Brady numerous times. He thinks its ridiculous that Brady isn't a top 5 quarterback.

Anyone who thinks Brady is not a top 5 quarterback is a moron.

Dude last year was a fantastic year for Brady. He is one of the only QB's ever that can take the crap he had last year and still produce miracles. I don't care what the stats say. Brady was dynamite last year and no other QB could have taken them that far.

Shelly Smith played very good no matter what the stats say especially on the running plays. Big difference with him in the lineup.

That's true.

I'd take PFF more seriously if they named the people doing the grading, and their qualifications.

Yea those ratings are bad makes me wonder if they watched the same game. Smith and james had great games
