PFF On QB's Cap Value

Nobody is talking absolutes. Its all contingent upon Tannehill continuing his upward trajectory, which appears likely to continue. What is so crazy about projecting that contract number?

Not true brother. Using the word minimum makes it an absolute. It means he will absolutely get that big of a contract because that is the minimum. I would not be that shocked at all if he did get a contract similar to that but it's by no means guaranteed. That's all I'm sayin

you just don't see the qb in the same light as i do so for you it doesn't add up...fair enough

we will see...i know where to find you... lock me up for if we wait 2 years at minimum 5 years $70 mil...i'm sure you will knock me if it's 5 and say 65 but that's a chance i will take...if they do it after next year might be able to work out something a little cheaper...players are usually cheaper when teams are proactive with them and show them love when they don't have to

could see a 7 year contract as well...i'm dead serious

I would never look up some old bs to call someone out. Not that kind of poster. Besides I'm not saying he won't get that much money anyways, just that it should not be looked at as a guarantee. I don't think our opinions on Tanne are that different. I'm hopeful. He has potential. If he can sure up his deep passes he may end up being great one day. Only time will tell :up:

Of course nothing is guaranteed. He could lose his arm in a car accident tomorrow. He could get 12 concussions next year and retire. Nobody thinks he would still get that contract if those things happen. All thats being said is that he could get that contract with those minimum dollars if he continues the way he has been. Using the word minimum does not imply an absolute.

I thought this would be a pretty good discussion IF we try to stay on topic just a bit. JMO

we all know what that first post of his was about...and frankly anyone who's team is entertaining adding michael vicks corpse or josh mccown to "upgrade" the teams qb situation shouldn't be talking

I apologize(this will be my last post on this) but I am not the one who took it of topic.

Not saying you were, and enjoy reading many of your posts. No reason to leave the discussion, I just prefer talking football and not the helter-skelter stuff most threads get to.

Yeah but, you both got off to talking about each other in place of RT or other QB's.

Don't...I'm laughing my ass off watching you give some of these guys the 'Curly bitch slap from the three stooges"..
Hey guys...If your going to go after Junc...go after him like Vaark.....otherwise he is WINNING!!!

I'm not "going after" anyone, that is an entirely different mode. lol Just trying to bring some semblance of keeping the thread informative and interesting.

I'm just kidding guys...back to football...

Back on topic though.

If the Dolphins view Tannehill as the future franchise QB (which I'm guessing they are with the 8th pick in the draft) , having steady progress from one year to the next. Unless he as some complete melt down (season wise, not just last two games) he will get his 5/$70 deal which is on par with other mid-tier QB's.

We can battle out if Tannehill is worth that, but thats besides the point.

For the production we are getting from R17 TODAY, his price tag of $2 and change is dirt cheap.

To Juncs point, we hope he doesn't get the big pay day from "future" potential and bust like many others (Juncs own Mr. Buttfumble) and to Hoops point, we can strike gold and get him "cheap" before he blows up like Rodgers did.

The good thing is that we have 2 seasons to sort this out. The bad thing is we have 2 off seasons to hit on draft picks to make RT affordable.
