PFF Ranks FA Safeties

I've been talking Clemons up for I don't know how many years now.. And every single year he is still underrated. FO give the guy a real freaking contract already before someone comes in and steals him and we get stuck with another Gibril Wilson.

Haha this post is funny... our defense was BY FAR the strength of this team. Our defense was far from perfect, but if we boasted an even AVERAGE offense (we were ranked 28th in scoring offense) then our defense would have been considered DOMINANT.

We were a top 10 defense even with that garbage offense and no ball control. Imagine if our offense was even half way decent.

Overall I agree but was talking about Jones, Ellerbe, and Wheeler struggling in the scheme, and Clemons vs the run compared to a year ago.

Chris Clemons is a solid football player and I hope we can find a way to bring him back on a reasonable contract. i.e. not Reshad Jones money.

Are you a spokesperson for PFF or something?

LOL. Nah, just post things I find of interest to talk about, and find PFF writing about players more interesting than most everything else going on. FWIW, this series on FA's are opinions from the writers. Although they list grades and stuff, you will see that is not how the players are ranked. They are taking the last two years and other info into their opinions. I believe they are doing it well, and better than any others I have seen.

top 10 scoring defense but still gave up plenty of yards. That bend but don't break gets u killed after a while.

Hopefully we can get everyone adjusting, and playing up to at least their average play. That would be an improvement.

Look for Byrd to be tagged.

But to franchise him again puts them back where they started, the $ is very big and they still don't have his rights longterm. renting again

Its not like the Bills are going to win a Super Bowl with him on the franchise tag in 2014. So take the comp pick and move on.
I wouldn't be surprised if he wants out of Buffalo

#Bills, after gauging market and looking at possible trade options, are now unlikely to tag Jairus Byrd, per source (@JoeBuscaglia 1st said)

If the Bills and Byrd don’t reach a deal by Monday, it doesn’t rule out a deal before the FA period. Stay tuned

Calvin Pryor is the best playmaker on defense in this draft. Love him.

WGR 550 Buffalo reports the Bills are unlikely to re-sign or use the franchise tag on free agent FS Jairus Byrd.
"The two sides have had productive discussions, and while things could change, it seems at this point that the two sides will split," writes Jeremy White. White's colleague, Joe Buscaglia, is arguably the top Bills beat reporter and adds that the Bills "explored all their options, including a trade." GM Doug Whaley shot a "substantial offer" Byrd's way, but the 27-year-old seems intent on testing the market. The deadline for the Bills to use the franchise tag is Monday at 4 PM. Byrd is the top free-agent safety available.

I'm not crazy about Clemons but man do i appreciate his consistency vs. R.Jones! I still can't believe our FO chose to pay him all that money after 1 good season vs. multiple bad ones.

Ridiculous...
