I don't understand why the names "AJ Feeley" and "Kevin Kolb" keep getting tossed around when talking about Flynn. Those quarterbacks are nothing like Flynn.
The only reason people keep mentioning them is because all three were backups before getting starting jobs. That is the ONLY comparison. Flynn is a much better prospect then either of those guys. Is a franchise quarterback? That I don't know. Is he lightyears better than Matt Moore? That I don't know either.
However, unlike Feeley and Kolb, there is no drastic trade compensation. There may not even be a large $10 million per year contract. Well, you could say Flynn was a product of the system and game planning in Green Bay. Guess what, that game planner(Philbin) and system are now in Miami. Who do you think knows the most about Flynn? The every day fan who looks at stats on NFL.com, or the guy who has been working with Flynn EVERY day for the past four years? If Philbin sees him as a starting quarterback and someone to build around, then obviously there must be something there. This isn't a front office like the 2004 Dolphins or last year's Cardinals getting a guy because of the buzz he created in a few starts. The guy that potentially would be bringing Flynn to Miami knows him better than any coach in the league.
To keep saying "he sucks", "he will be a bust", "he is another Feeley or Kolb" is such a simple uneducated response. You have no clue what Flynn will be like, and I am not claiming I do either. All I know is if Philbin wants him, you have to place trust in the move. Now, if I am the Browns or Seahawks, I would be worried about getting him, because their coaches have no idea besides the buzz.
