PFT: martin looking to end dispute, resolution could come soon

The question is when and if you settle with Martin then what happens to Ireland and Aponte? Both of them have brought shame and embarrassment to the organization.

Aponte didn't have anything to do with drafting the big bitch.

Ireland deserves some shame if you're playing the result.

I would throw this at him...drop the complaint and I will release you and give you every dollar remaining on the contract.
And in the court of public opinion, that would be a win for both sides.

If the NFL investigation continues, the staff and FO is done.

Don't often agree with you, but I would agree here.

They are done, because it's like unmasking a Mexican wrestler. Nobody wants to, but if forced, they
will. But, it sets precident that NOBODY in the NFL wants.

bravo!!

Is the article somewhat deceiving to some of you? I don't see where it mentions anything about J. Martin wanting this to come to a resolution...

And the truth is starting to come out, I told you this was all about money and his contract. He quit the team, and then spoke with his agent to come up with a scheme to not lose money. THATS WHY HE WENT STRAIGHT TO THE REPORTER, for public support and try to put the dolphins in a corner. This will speak loudly how strong the dolphins organization is or how weak they are.

If they pay out Martin and let him walk, I would consider that a win, as would every
organization in the NFL.

Just pay the Punk and move on. Sometimes you have to cut your losses. It's like when things went bad between me and my fiance. I helped her pack and move into another apartment and gave her some rent money....we remained pretty friendly, and I moved on and so did she. Sometimes you just have to do this.

Not really, because the Dolphins organization is contingent on fans' perceptions and purchases to sustain itself, and so the Dolphins' view of those perceptions will in large part drive what they do as an organization, regardless of how "strong" or "weak" they appear.

This is why the "court of public opinion" often results in settlements that have little to do with guilt or innocence. Sometimes making the issue go away is the "win."

I hope the resolution is that he's no longer on the team and they're not paying him to sit on his butt doing nothing. Martin and Incognito both off the team is fine with me.

It really depends, but I think the Dolphins should find a way to end this as peacefully and quietly as possible. Martin is obviously very seriously ill and I highly doubt there is going to be a rash of players rushing to pull similar stunts.

Let the heads roll later. End the PR nightmare now.

I think it does.

I love the unmasking of the wrestler analogy...good stuff. Made me chuckle.
