PFT: martin looking to end dispute, resolution could come soon

For what it is worth this is the most speculative piece I have read to date on the whole event. Even the title says "could be coming" but has no source nothing. Common sense tells me Martin didn't lawyer up to just end it.

The NFL just made the concussion issue go away. We're talking about an organization that rakes in hundreds of millions of dollars in profit each year that somehow has Federal antitrust exemption. They buried the concussion issue. They will never have to reveal what they knew, when they knew it, and how they covered it up.

If the NFL wants this to go away quietly and Martin is willing to reach an agreement, this will most definitely go away quietly. Who is going to keep this going? Who is going to make this an even bigger deal? The media? The same dudes who are reporting nothing but what they are being spoonfed by Martin's people?
 
I just wonder if a team would come calling offering a late draft pick for him. Patriots lost Vollmer. sell him off cheap.

and wouldnt it be nice if we had the chance to play against him in coming weeks?

NFL could be in a tight spot here. They may have known about the golf club incident. Bigger trouble than dolphins if you ask me.

I see settlement and Goodell tries to save face all the way around.

Whatever Dolphins can do to get Martin gone is well worth it at this point.

But I also think Martin doesnt have much more than is being led on. The put the obvious golf incident out there because that was a biggy. It has nothing to do with Martin though and his case. This would be thrown out in court would it not?
 
I think Jeff Ireland is flat out DONE regardless of what happens. I think Joe Philbin stays if the team reaches the playoffs and either plays a competitive game in the wild card round or actually wins a playoff game.

I think Dawn Aponte somehow survives like the tuna worshiping weasel she is.

They didn't make it go away it's was a 765 million dollar settlement!

I agree. They men who built this country would have called him a coward. Giving him the benefit of the doubt he is a boy in a mans body who might be mentally disturbed. If he had not graduated Stanford then I make take the stance he was not the smartest cookie in the box.

I would love Incog to have some stuff on Martin only so we could stuff all this garbage the media has been spouting right down their throats. They have already been running backwards stating they have only been reporting the facts that the team is reporting but they skew those facts every time by undermining any source supporting Incog. and elevating sources that support Martin to sainthood.

I do not blame Ireland for telling Martins agent to poke Incog in the nose which is probably what Incog really respects those that stand up to him. If the entire team was not supporting Incog over Martin then I might have had an issue with how Ireland handled it.

As for all the bozos outside the locker room throwing around their opinions without really knowing what is going on they can take a flying leap.

Closing note Martin has the talent to make it in the NFL. I say this considering how physically weak he is then the talent has to be there for him to play.
 
And believe me the concussion talk it didnt go away, it just slowed down a bit. Its here to stay.
 
Fellas, I dont believe Martin was Bullied, and I dont believe that Martin feels he was Bullied. His agent said, if your going to quit football how much is leaving a million dollars behind worth. And guess what a million dollars is worth all this mess to Martin. For a man who will be seeking a new profession, a million bucks is worth a whole lot to him. Was Martin depressed about his situation with the dolphins, yes, so he can go to therapy for depression even thou it had nothing to do with Bullying.

I dont think so based on a couple of things.

1. people are already tired of this to a point
2. They got their issue (bullying) and it was talked about ad nauseum.
3. People already hate the media so if they drag this crap out while taking time away from real football talk, people will tune out and go to another source. I mean, ESPN radio spent so much time talking about this on the radio that it required them to just about throw away so much other stuff they had planned in their normal schedule. A settlement is a settlement. They will talk about it. Say Incog is a jerk (we knew that already) and the Dolphins organization is a mess (not as much as you may think)

just need to get rid of Ireland IMO.

That's your OPINION. I don't think this has anything to do with the organization.
 
When you make a big stink then say you want to come to terms it means your beat. If he gets another penny it better come under the terms of public apology.
