PFT: martin looking to end dispute, resolution could come soon

The dumbest statement in this forum since the whole debacle. Many Americans had gotten a lot of Millions for harassment in the workplace with a lot less evidence that the ones we had heard so far against Martin. Are you freaking kidding me? Martin could sue for 20 Millions and there is a great chance he will get every penny of it. If Martin really want to settle this by taking the bonus and the remaining of his rookie contract, I can guarantee you that Ross will settle before Martin open his mouth. Good lord, I can understand fan will always be fan but this dumb?

Love "had gotten a lot of millions". Nothing beats a jets fan on a dolphins message board talking about stupid statements with a "had gotten a lot of millions" statement. Now that's an instant classic. Yes we are laughing at you.

Hey dope, I don't know if he has a case, because I am confident that Martin received THE SAME treatment as everyone else on the team. He wasn't singled out for abuse. And he even took part in some of the same shenanigans. If all that can be portrayed in the courts, people may see through this sham. He didn't quit due to workplace harassment, he quit because he was upset about the position change and cracked under all the pressure of his struggles on the field and a 4 game losing streak. It is obvious form the timing of events. He had to bring up a 7 month old VM to try to pull the "bully" angle in the public's eye.

They didn't make it go away it's was a 765 million dollar settlement!

Chump change to allow them to bury forever the proof that they knew damn well about head trauma and actively attempted to cover it up for YEARS. It is crazy to me that anyone can think the NFL lost that one. The concussion suit plaintiffs did what Jon Martin may do here and 'won' with a settlement (and avoided nasty litigation) and the NFL in return 'won' by being able to bury some damning stuff. That was a straight victory for the NFL. Even if the NFL had won in court, the evidence that would have been presented would have been absolutely devastating to the league.

Mommy, mommy! They won't sit with me and keep teasing me because I give up 5 sacks a game....dump Martin! It's football for crying out loud!!!

Jets fans hoping for the worse when in the end this incident may have just brought this team closer together and gave them even more to fight for. You have love a team that think everyone is against them and they believe only have each other to count on. If this is the case and this team rally's around the way they are being portrayed in the media....look out....we've already seen how well a pissed off Starks has played, now add in the rest of the team.

Pay him......if you have to cut him then give him a settlement with a confidentiality agreement then do it....fighting this keeps it in the news and continues to be a distraction to the team....we still have a good shot to make the playoffs....we are a pretty good team, lets not throw this yr away.....after you pay him, then cut Richie and move on.....

If we just pay him and let him go, what is to stop future players unhappy with their circumstances from trying the same strategy?

True. However that player would have to be willing to take the onslaught that was directed at Martin from that said locker room.

It's a trick!

TRAP!

I agree 100% I feel a winning streak coming.....making the playoff is not that tough especially when we still have two games against the Jets and 1 with the Pats, we have a favorable schedule the rest of the way....

Looks like Martin is waiving the white flag.

I saw brief clip w/ his dad who is may or may not have 1 foot in the real world but is pu$$y whipped too.

This fiasco was PC BS driven by Mommy (no more no less).

Make Martin a reasonable settlement then he & Incog fade into the dustbins of history.

I was in favor of drafting Yankey. Now, not so much. Lets see what Arkin, Brenner (PS), Yeatman, Watkins & Garner can do and move forward

lol I saw that clip as well. Martin walks out the house with headphones on, dad opening the car door for him, and mom closing/locking the house door. They looked they were taking Martin to a PTA meeting. It was hilarious IMO.

Giving Martin any kind of deal would be admitting the dolphins did something wrong.

And that's something NFL teams just don't do. I don't think he gets anything.

My bet, and IMO this is his only move, is to tell the media he's taking a year off for personal reasons, let Mia quietly release him down the line, and come back later and say he is fixed.

People forget pretty quickly, Rey Lewis had his buddies hold a man down while he stabbed him to death, no one cares over time. Everyone can move on from this, and as hard as we are on Martin, I don't think he ever meant for this to go this far.

No it doesn't, not even close. Same way the Dolphins paid off Cog's lady friend, this doesn't mean they were admitting anything. It's all about controlling the damage.

It's our system, you'd be a fool to not try and play the system for that it is worth. Just ask Martin all about that. It's not the truth, it's what the media thinks is the truth.

And how they bury their dead.
